Pallet Wood Wishing Well || Wedding Card Collection Box
มุมมอง 26K6 ปีที่แล้ว
This wishing well was made for my friends for their wedding day. They gave me one photo for guidance but left it to me to design and make it. The wishing well is made from pallet wood and constructed using brad nails, glue and pocket screws. I was stained with a dark wax to protect it. Phone Charger Holder || DIY woodworking walnut iPhone charger holder
มุมมอง 4757 ปีที่แล้ว
I was given the plastic phone charger holder which didn't do what it was meant to very well. I decided to upgrade this by making my own. The main objective was to make it so that it 'locked' into place and wouldn't fall off. Its made from walnut, brass bolts and 4mm brass rod. This is the first design and already I'm thinking of better ideas. Im an apple lover and have always had iPhone's, henc...
Dr Martens Leather Knees || Recycling Old Boots into Knee Pad Patches
มุมมอง 6357 ปีที่แล้ว
We all have a pair of those jeans that you wear till they full apart but you continue to wear them because they are so comfy. Well I have a pair of those jeans that I wasn't quite ready to get rid of. I also had a pair of Dr Marten rigger boots that on the surface looked perfectly fine. But on the inside the steel toe cap had shifted and made them uncomfortable to wear. They had lasted well at ...
Making a Hammer Handle from Old Oak Stock
มุมมอง 8367 ปีที่แล้ว
I brought this hammer head for pennies at a local car boot sale. The only thing wrong, was it didn't have a NO HANDLE! So i went to task making a new one from some left over oak I had from a previous project. I also had fun with making the intro. Yes it makes me cringe too! Leatherman Micra Mod
มุมมอง 17K7 ปีที่แล้ว
I wanted to reduce the amount of keys on my key ring and one thing i didn't want to loose was my Leatherman Micra. Its such a handy tool to have on you and I use it all the time. This is why I came up with this idea, and like most ideas I have, lots of others have got there first. This is the third thing I have made on my new/old lathe. I haven't a clue what I am doing with it and it is quite a...
Bird House Circle
มุมมอง 1847 ปีที่แล้ว
This is the second bird box of a series of three I designed: TRIANGLE, CIRCLE and SQUARE. Though titled CIRCLE, this has an abstract circle shape. The main construction is walnut and I have incorporated some recycled / repurposed materials. It was a fun project and I would love to hear what you think. Height Chart Ruler
มุมมอง 1.6K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This Height Chart is made to look like an old wooden ruler. Its not a unique design as there are lots of people that make these. The process I used for making this oak height chart shows, you don't need a CNC router to cut good lettering in wood. Though, it would be quicker, especially if your making lots! Bird House: TRIANGLE

Amazing job 👍🏼
Bravíssimo!
That’s a great point about not needing so much space for a house key. Gives me some other ideas…
Wow.... your a real good carpenter, the wishing well looks amazing , can you tell me the measurements, how tall over all and how wide the box part and how tall is the letter box .... you have inspired me to try and make one for my friends getting married this summer... thank you Greg .
Thanks for watching. It was quite a while since I made it and it was gifted to my friends for their wedding. I did do a quick sketchup drawing and I’ve just taken the dimensions from that. I didn’t stick to the drawing I did but it’ll be a good guide if you want to make one yourself. Total height - 800mm Bottom barrel height - 350mm Middle section height - 300mm Roof height - 150mm Width (face to face) - 340mm Hope that helps and good luck
@@joshkennedycouk thank you for sharing the size ... I am excited to try my hand at making one ... Cheers Greg
and also you should make more videos!
Thats cool
Thanks! Was fun to make
It just so happens i have all those tools in my shed to make that.
Fantastic! I look forward to seeing it
😂😂😂👍
Love your video . How long did it take to make . Have you got any more to show us . John from Scotland
Thank you! It took two days to build. Unfortunately I haven’t got my workshop space since extending my house. That is this years project, to build a new one. Check out my Instagram to see other bit I’m making in the meantime @joshkennedy.co.uk Thanks again for watching
Why did you heat it?
Because the original screw has lock tight on it and the heat loosens it. There isn’t much purchase on it as it is very small and only knurled. Thanks for watching 👍
@@joshkennedycouk Thanks for the clear explanation.
Excellent job! I wish I had your shop full of toys!!!
B KG one tool at a time. You don’t need a lathe to do this project. M3 nut and bolts and you can flatten/round the heads by putting them in pillar drill or drill in a vice and using a file. Thanks for watching 👍
Should have lost the knife blade - legal/confiscation risk some places and too small to be useful when have quicker accessed sprung great scissors!
insanogeddon tend to disagree. The blade length in the UK is not an issue and I use the knife over the scissors a lot. For opening parcels or peeling fruit. Thanks for watching
nice well, i built a huge one when was about 17 years old, now i am 43, its long gone now but it looked good while it lasted. nice work.
Have any birds used it?
Thanks for watching. I’m not sure about this bird box because I traded it for a portrait of our dog with a local artist. I’ve had birds in my other bird boxes: instagram.com/p/BzBOAx2gJlT/?igshid=1jft95bhhn8ok
I cant keep the knees in the best overalls. This is a good solution. I wonder what washing them will do to the leather?
I’ve not washed them so I have no idea what washing them would do. The best overalls I’ve ever had, had pockets in the knee to put foam pads to save your knee. Also it was easy to sew a new piece of material on when the pocket wore through. I think that would be a better idea, and easier to wash as you can remove the pad.
Really impressed with that lettering! What tools/bits are you using? Many thanks in advance 👍
I used a v groove router bit. It’s a 60 degree one rather than the normal 45 degree.
super cool mod!
Great job !
Todo muy lindo, pero necesito todas esas herramientas😥
Put your safety glasses on.
Good! But hardly?
Dude just came across this and it's really clever what you went for! really cool :) More videos please
Andre Bandarra 2 Thanks Andre! I’ll get some more videos out once I’ve finished my house. Hopefully in the next couple of months.
Well that was bloody great! nice use of the tools at hand
MoonshineMetalworks Thanks Steve! Feels like a very long time since I made it
Love it mate! Any reason to get an led strip light out I can appreciate :-) amazed you found time to make that too! I need to work on my jigsaw accuracy before I could build such things!
Chris Gillingham Thanks Chris! I’m sure you could make one of these. It would be good jigsaw practice!
Nice lamp Josh, and good you found time to do it around your house renovation. Good luck!
Phil Makes Things Thanks Phil. It was touch and go whether I would find the time. I’m glad I did!
Nice one Josh.
Thank you!
Nice play button. Also like how you basically turned the screw driver into a multi tool ☺
John Made it Thanks John. It was a real head scratcher trying to come up with a way of building this with just those few tools.
Great work ! I have some serious tool envy especially the pocket jig 👍
Thank you!
Looks great
Thank you!
Nice mitre saw. Cool copper roof... I think I may be a subscriber...
Andrew Cartlidge Thank you for Subscribing! 😁👍
A nice build. Great edit!
Andy Pugh Thank you Andy! 😁
Very cool Josh! This is such a good idea! I'm looking for something similar for my 'game over' day in August..so I might steal..I mean get inspired!😝😂
Marino Cardelli Thanks mate! Haha! Love to see any stealing/inspiration you creat!! 😂👍
Great video fella! Turned out really nice... even if you did put half of it together upside down.
MoonshineMetalworks We've all been there!
Many, many times...
Thank you! Yeah, what an idiot! Amazing how you can get the simplest things wrong.
He's BACK! Nice build Josh, and I will certainly be stealing the method for making the plugs for the end of the tube... 👍
Thanks Phil! Still going to be a bit intermittent with the videos but its a start!
Great job. I love restoring boot sale finds
Badger Workshop Cheers! I love the car boot sales. You never know what you’ll find. Thanks for the subscription!
Nice work! Love how it turned out 👌
Average Joe's Joinery Thank you 👍. It was a fun project. And thank you for subscribing! I'm a bit slow at getting videos out at the moment but will pick things up in a few months. Thanks again!
so jealous..
Neat
+DanieleGiorgino Thanks!
Great job ^^. But why? - Ryan Reynolds- xD
erik wik Along with my car key, its all I carry. Just consolidates my keys into a neat package. Thanks for watching.
Love that design and hopefully the birds use it! What was the stuff you put on the back, some kind of resin? What's its purpose? - Clint
+Timber Anew thank you!! It's fibreglass resign. I wanted a nicer finish for the back as the metal was sharp and wouldn't have looked good. I know it's the back but I always think, would I give or sell it to someone like that. Thanks for subscribing!
Ah I get ya, makes sense, its good to be a perfectionist! Hey no worries, I look forward to more videos.
Timber Anew Thanks again!
Wow, Josh... I'm humbled... 😳 I wasn't expecting that! Thank you. 👍👍👍
Phil Makes Things No worries! It was fun to make and I learnt a few things on the way. Also I do like a challenge. Glad you like it!
Well that's a damn sight more useful than the plastic thing. Nicely done! I'll echo the comment below about brass and walnut. Classic combination. 👍
Phil Makes Things Thank you. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
This is a great design! Love the walnut and brass combo. Super video.
+Mat Foster thank you!
Well done and clever editing! Great job Josh!
Make Something Thanks for checking it out!
+Make Something and thanks for subscribing!!!
I like the padding, shame about the Rigger boots though.
+Stu eightfish a real shame, I loved those boots.
Great video mate, really enjoyed it.
+Mat Foster cheers!
This video is ridiculously satisfying. And nice workshop dude :D
EllDeeCee Thanks! Good to hear you enjoyed it!
:D Is this a hobby or work - or both ?
EllDeeCee At the moment it's a hobby. I enjoy making all sorts of things. I would like to turn it into a business one day. For now now it's all fun. As a side note, love your channel. I'm a subscriber!
Thanks dude, I noticed this morning and I saw you had some content which is how I ended up here. Check out labs.uk.barclays/ it's a project I work on. It's all about turning old unused spaces into maker/co-working spaces - If you fancied a visit i'll show you around. they'll be a load of people who who are into making/fabricating etc. and lots of people trying to grow a business out of it.If ever you fancy it. Let me know. Cheers.
And Brighton is the best one.
Ok. Cool but far too much silly con carne.
