A heck of a neat idea! Cheap hacksaw blades would be more then enough to form the grippers too. And it would not take much to make a "hands only" version which looked a bit like a Ping Pong paddle which could be used anywhere. I think I'll be doing something like that for Christmas presents.
I used a 6TPI x 1/4 blade
great idea
Thank you
Very Nice Video, What price do you get for them?,
The one I bought years ago I paid $10 for. I’m probably gonna sell them for $15, if my wife doesn’t use them all for gifts first.
i like these a lot im trying to get away from ca finish but think the shine is worth it thanks for the education!!!
I really love the CA finish for shine and durability, both there are many that like the wood feel.

I couldn't help but think of Alice's Restaurant as I was listening to you talk! 😄
Never heard of Alice’s Restaurant until now. I had to look it up.
I love the colors!!!

what about a gallon of epoxy for the candlestick holder
I’m working on one now that start to finish including the pour. Stay tuned.
I live in louisiana too
No place like home.
Great job 👏
Thank you
@@Quentinswoodworks your welcome
But man I'm not a fan of turning epoxy
While epoxy can be frustrating the end results can be fascinating.
@@Quentinswoodworks oh yea for sure its just such a process lol
The candlestick holder is gorgeous!
Thank you
Love it it’s beautiful
Thank you
GREAT VIDEO BUDDY
Thank you
Beautiful piece. Well done!
Thank you
Thank you for showing your whole process. I've been struggling trying to find a way to clean up the excess ca glue on the ends.
Glad I could help!
Odies oil does smell great! The super glue is a coating, in my opinion. So, for a pen, it's much better. Ca glue is even water proof and will definitely help with scratches and whatnot. Really great idea though. I'm an amateur woodworker...but a professional granite guy...we use ca glue with stone all the time! Great video. I subscribed. Thank you!
Thank you for watching
ca glue is the best finish overall. what type of pens are they I like the look of the odies
These are the fancy slimline pens made from mimosa.
Excellent !
Thank you.
Just appeared out of nowhere in my suggestion box on youtube. Great video! Beautifil pens
Thank you
Brilliant. I would like to see the quantities of glue, activator and time between each as i've had some problems where it wasn't activated properly and went yuck. Then a bunch splitting when I press them in made me give give up on the whole thing, I would love to do it again though. I'm in NZ.
I do one coat then activator. Doesn’t take but a few seconds and it’s dry to the touch. Then I will put 2 to 3 more coats of glue before the next activator. Three to four more coats and the last activator. Very seldom (maybe 1 percent) will one split during assembly.
Nothing new , to heavy, no thanks
Thanks for the view
Wow! Beautiful colors!!!
Thank you. Sandra already claimed this one.
Very nice end product. Goes to show that talent and passion can be well mixed. Good for you. I hope your wearing a mask my friend. That epoxy will kill in dust form. Worse than coal dust. Again very very nice job
Thank you
Thanks for leaving in the screw ups .
We all make mistakes. That is why it is so important to learn from them and correct them so we can be better the next time.
1:39 Another beautiful piece!
Thank you
I like it great work
Thank You
They're very beautiful. I love the 3 different colored kits to go with the 3 different species of wood. They'd have no problem selling, or being accepted as gifts. Sharing this with my wife.
Thank you. I enjoy making them.
Very Nice! I have the scraps and some resin. Gonna have to try one. Thanks for sharing.
I enjoy making these and my wife loves them. Thank you for watching.
Just found the motor on Ebay, Thanks.
Just put the links in the description
This a very nice setup and exactly what I need for finishing. Do you have the links for the parts?
just put the links in the description
Next time, instead of measuring for the holes you need to drill hold the metal fixture on the acrylic and scribe the holes with anything that will fit in the hole. That's much easier and will be more accurate. Also if you add some support to the frame you will prevent the wracking and deflection. Just some thoughts...
I thought about doing that the second time but didn’t. The book also shows the hole pattern which is metric, but I tend to get hard headed and do it my own way. I had to retighten the screws from the router base to the plexiglass during cutting the first couple boards. I cut about an 1/8” off the screws which allowed them to tighten up properly and gave me a smoother cut.
How bout leaving the links to the products you bought from Amazon? That would be great!
Links have been put in the description
Good job man!
Thank you
Why not just use a hardwood or thick plastic plate instead of the aluminum?
The plate needed to have threaded holes so I figured aluminum would be my best choice for longevity of use.
@@Quentinswoodworks hard to argue with that!
ethalen glychol will ruin tire rubber. you should use eththnol alchol or rim-guard for ballast.
My other tire has been running the same mix for 18 years and the tire is still in use. The antifreeze hasn’t ruined it yet.
What do you think radiator hoses are made of?
Water is going to rust out your rim in a couple years. 😢
Been running water in the tires for over 18 years in this one with no rim problems. I know where a 4010 is that has been using water in the tires since for over 30 years without issues.
I can see that being useful in many ways. How about a tractor pull or race for more grip? Also could be less heat and less blowouts on the drag strip.maybe?
The added weight of the water gives better traction for everyday use and makes it more stable for front end loader use. I would never fill the tires with water for high speed use because it will throw them out of balance.
nice
Thank you
Nice job...! End result is fabulous..! I do pine cones & Resin quite often. I believe you had so many bubbles and air voids because the pine cones were wet. Any moisture at all in resin will cause problems. I always dry my pine cones for at least 2 hrs at 200F.. Give it a try next time.
When I work with pinecones I wash them in water with a little white vinegar added. I then put them in an oven at 150 deg overnight to dry it out and cook down the sap on the pinecones. I have another one poured now using a different method and it looks like its going to be good.
I love the pepper blank the best. Where did you find it? That is not a common wood offered for sale, at least from my minimal research. All four were nicely made, thank you for the video!
I got the pepper tree wood from a man in Arizona, about 45 minutes outside of Yuma on Interstate 8. Contact him at sonorawood.works and he may be able to help you out.
Thanks for information. I appreciate it.
