Unfortunate . Trying to get any towing vehicle moving in mud is tricky but impossible on a hill . Take ghe scout car off and start from the top of the hill . Another pointless excercise as they were built for totally different uses

The Halftrack has a much smaller percentage of its track in contact with the ground compared to the length of the vehicle. With the kettenkrad, this percentage is much higher.

The last one is a Scout car, not a halftrack. By the looks of it, the scout car pulled its front drive shaft, probably driven a lot on pavement, this prevents wear on the drive components by eliminating "windup" of the front differential. What you then have is a 4 ton RWD truck, hence why he is stuck. Someone chained the halftrack to it, in the worst possible spot, in front of a hill, (now we have 2 stuck trucks), and the 3rd is hopelessly trying to pull the 2 that are now bogged down.

M36 GMC was built on a Sherman hull but its not considered a Sherman tank. The US didnt classify their tank destroyers as light or medium or heavy. It was listed simply as a gun motor carriage. The T26E3 came from the T20 medium tank project to design a m4 Sherman replacement. The US sent 20 T26E3's to Europe in Feb 1945. This was a 46 ton tank but was listed as a heavy tank to give US tankers some morale support that they now had a US heavy to combat Panthers and Tigers. In March 1945 the T26E3 was reclassified as the M26 Pershing. In May 1946 M26 Pershing was reclassified as a medium tank.

Nice footage of reconditioned WW2 Deutscher Halftracks (Halbketten) and a couple of wheeled cars, too. SPW 250/1 recon AFV, SdKfz 9 flatbed load carrier, SdKfz 9 heavy halftrack, SdKfz 7 prime mover, and Kfz 2 Kettenkrad, pass by the camera, giving a good feel for the relative sizes of each. Also 3 axle military truck (Kfz 15, I think), Kubelwagen (the Wehrmacht's "Jeep"), and BMW motorcycle with sidecar are featured. Passengers on each vehicle also allow us to compare size and handiness of various military vehicles. One thing I noticed right away: the Kfz 9 is a big machine! Thanks for posting!

Halftrack used a rockewell axle in the rear to turn the sprockets correct? Weld the rear dif then both tracks would be moving. And I can see the front axle needs a locker as well.

You are wrong sir. I myself have a White M3A1 scout car. Same thing as half track, only I have wheels, not tracks. I climb hills like this on every rally I go on. No trouble at all. Rain, mud, dry. Makes no difference.

Maybe in normal conditions but it had been raining a lot the last days, so het upper cm were slippery, but the under layer was hard. What made it difficult for the half-track and even several tanks.

Or you could buy a replica from welbikeuk but it is quit expensive for a replica

well of course. Kettenkrad weighs less.

They can do about 30 mph (or 48km/h). Which is pretty fast on the road. Because for example, the steering wheel has a little play, you need to get used to it wenn you want to drive fast. In the movie we aren't driving that fast, because of the lack of space, people that are walking around, ... But it is a lot of fun to drive it :)
