bro learn serbian ur roots
Great video keep up the great work!
Ask anyone? Whatever? Young people almost all speak English.❤
What ethnic background are you?
I would protest against English signs. This entitled guy with an nypd hat wants us to relive past trauma which was at the hands of the 'English speaking world'.
Yes you found it. This is exactly what i am trying to do with my beanie hat. Put ur ego on the side and don’t say unnecessary words.
Thank you for your comments on my emphasis on the lack of English language which is apparent in many places in Belgrade. It’s interesting that only Serbs seem to complain when I mention the lack of English signs, which feels a bit biased. My feedback is meant to highlight areas for improvement, like adding English signage and information at historical sites, which would make the city more accessible and enjoyable for tourists who do not speak Serbian.

I would protest against English signs. We don't care about westerners. Don't visit if you can't adapt or adjust to such a frivolous thing. You are the ONLY person who I have seen complain.
We have been through many hardhips, with anglo saxon nations being a root cause of our suffering. You have a lot of nerve. The LAST thing we are going to do is cater to the entitlement of your expectations.
i will not be so harsh as my countryman above, but you need to understand, this is serbia. official language is serbian and its primary cyrillic and then latin alphabet. english is spoken through the city, so people can help you if you show some effort to communicate with local population. and i am sure that many places are translated for tourists, but if not, your phone can do so in just few clicks. consider this lack of english signs as a bonus for your experience of serbia. but if its that much of a hassle, then i recommend london or new york as your destination where i am sure you will find plenty of english signs. maybe you will notice lack of french, german, russian, japanese, hindu, chinese, arabic translations in those places... when you visit more countries, you will find that majority do not translate to english everything. english may be most spoken, but its nowhere close to be enforced as a written language. even if it comes to that, serbia will be country to oppose such thing. all the best in your travels.
Alex, your observations are correct and a mayor of Belgrade has announced 3 months ago that all street signs would be uniformed and bilingual-- serbian kyrilic and english... People in Serbia are against everything new...it's hard to understand... There are "protesters" who are "guarding" old Sava bridge on wooden pillars which is literally on the verge of fallin in the river, built by f...gnazis 70 years ago, small, narrow and ugly as hell.. New spectacular one is comming but they don't want it?!?
@@St_just if it were a simple observation, he would say it once. what he did throughout his videos is whine and whinge. entitled westerner.

Serbian is not an international language. English is.
@AlexVentures.official Says who It is not the most spoken language in the world. Serbian people are so good, the perfect host in any meaning of the word. And having them explain and communicate with the people is more heart-warming than english signs. At the end of the day it is a great place to be💗
@ i agree!
@@AlexVentures.officialAnd French is an international language, do you speak it? How do you find your way around Athens or Thessaloniki? Or in Budapest, Paris. Ask people in English and you'll get by. And buy a city map like I do.
@ A very fast small research will show you that “…English is the foremost, and by some accounts the only, world language. Other possible world languages include Arabic, French, Russian, and Spanish, although there is no clear academic consensus on the subject…” (Wikipedia,2025)

Wrong time of year
use internet and google translator it is not that difficult, in France it writes in French in Germany on German and we do not complain
Aderfia gia panta!
Tank is the symbol of serbian nationalism from 90s years and wars in former Yugoslavia. Most fans of Red Star club are ultra nationalist and they salute serbian war criminals.
Did I see you do the Orthodox "tri prste" to cross yourself inside St Sava?
Everytime we go in and out of church as Greeks we do
The steam roller in front of Partizan stadium is a response to Red star tank. Partizan football club is often called "Parni valjak" -steam roller
There is a rumor that tank T55 has been used in war during '90 in Vukovar and represents red star fans North Army (Delije sever). This is now a part of stadium exterior.

Red Star FC is part of betrayal of Serbia, they love slimy more than God.
If I go to Germany, chances are most things will be in German. If I go to France - in French. I was in Portugal and saw many interesting monuments with no English or other descriptions whatsoever. But, when I was interested, I would google the name of the person (if the name is on the monument) and I would find out who that person was.
English is not an official language in Serbia. Most tourist sites have explanations with barcodes which you can scan... I know in Kalemegdan they have also display boards in English. In any case, you do not need to know about every monument you see. Those names would mean nothing to you anyway. We've had many TH-camrs shoot videos in Serbia and they all saw the sites, nobody complained. You can research the sites and find them on GPS, and find information about them online if you really want to.

Mnogo kukaš za nekoga ko u sred Beograda nosi NYPD kapu.
THANKYOU FOR MARKETING SERBIA TO WORLD WE SUCK AT MARKETING
We don't suck at marketing. In many European countries, just some most important things are in English... not everything.
@AlexM-t6h that's why Serbia is least visited country in Europe
So you deleted my comments. Talk about petty.
Dear friend, your negative comments are still there. Do not worry. I never delete anything unless TH-cam blocks any nasty words. Thank you for your feedback 👍
You travel Alone...
Hope you enjoyed, and yes you have a point for the Statues
We do not have to have an English description of every statue out there. The names of our poets, writers, painters, generals, etc. would not mean anything to a foreigner anyway.
😀Well I guess you'll just have to learn Serbian ...
Pljeskavica, cebabi, nature, sports and Serbian women i believe are amongst the best Serbia has in its portfolio.
Regarding all those statues and monuments which you've seen, they are all pretty old and have not since been renovated, therefore they don't have info in English. The names of the people are usually written in the Cyrillic alphabet, but some are written in Latin.
Brother everything is in Serbian because 99% of people who visit are Serbs or understand Serbian. Tourism has only begun to expand these last few years. Most restaurants in the city centre have English menus, and many landmarks have info in English. I don't know why you expected to see everything in English. Also, most people in Serbia speak decent English so it shouldn't be a problem to manage getting around.
A sto bi pisali na Engleskom u Srbiji?Je l im napisano na Engleskom u Kini,Japanu,Francuskoj...?

As someone already commented - we don't need the inscriptions , or titles in english , but those exist in some cases. For an example - in museums , or in touristy areas , restaurants do have bilingual menu's . However , if you are interested in specific things , or monuments , there is a Belgrade tourist organization (I believe they have a web site) and there are tourist guides (in warm seasons there are free walking tours). Or you can ask somebody , if they can help. People do speak English here and they are , mostly , willing to help , but they are not obligated to do so , because we do have our own language. I've been traveling around Europe and I haven't seen many explanations in English (beside the airports and some museums). Other than that , there is a Google translator and I don't see a problem.
14:43 - It's written for people living there, natives speaking Serbian language. Doesn't make sense to be written in English. Why is nothing in US written in Serbian so people can understand something when they visit? Hope that makes sense. When I visited States, California to be exact, nobody spoke English, spanish only, illiterate people everywhere so what? I had to complain about them? Of course not. 15:41 - everything is open when weather is nice. People owning those KNOW that parks are empty when weather is bad, hence no need even to be near those. Yes, fridges are common thing here, kids are swarming them for Ice Cream on nice weather. Where are you from anyways? You don't sound American even though you have PD bagan hat on. Americans are nice, you're definitely not an American. No need to be rude dude. That gets you easy unlike and "don't recommend this channel".
Hi. I am just stating what i see and my opinion. Don’t be a hater if your country has some defects. English language is the 1st internationally common language after Spanish i believe that is why i expected to see this to help out tourists understand and navigate themselves. Serbian in nowhere near that list last time i checked. Why other countries do it? It’s not a 3rd world country in the middle of nowhere to justify not having it. Especially a country that is trying to enter the EU. Why write Serbian in the US?? No logic in what you said. Every country has bad and good things. Don’t take it personally. There’s many good things about Serbia as well. Wait for part 2
@@AlexVentures.official So what if the English is 1st international common language? Serbian Cyrilic is official number 1 language of country of Serbia, we do not even need to write anything in English. In tourist locations there are English written words. Been there since 1914. You come here "demanding" things and complaining about stuff that are natural in other countries. Show me where in Germany or France or Italy is written in English where local German populace go? In Hungary and Romania and Bulgaria nothing is written in English, only tourist locations, like hotels, spa's, restaurants, ect. So if you have a problem with it, do not visit it ever again. You are not welcomed here.
@@AlexVentures.official Ајде ти мало Америчко гованце, научи ти лепо Српски и престани да кењаш.
