pretty cool,...i live in Jackson county and nice see other do what they're so passioned about, as my own grandmother was years ago.Judy really made me think of my grandmother and miss all the time use to cook with her. ( God RIP her soul :( ) I sure miss her squash pie and persimmon pudding she use to make with some sweet tea. Always remember guys, to always cherish you love ones and grandparents - making memories with them. Whether if it cooking, to fishing, to yard saling or bike riding. A memory is priceless and last a life time!

I literally packed my kids in the car and drove for an hr to get permission pulp from an orchard. I will be making this recipe tomorrow!

I got pulp in the freezer I need to use. I need to try some different recipes so I'll see about using buttermilk. Ours calls for brown sugar and regular sugar

Thank you so much for making this video 💙. I grew up in Southern Indiana (Pike County), and used to love bringing my Mom and Grandma persimmons after the first freeze, and they would make pudding. Huge and emotional memory from my childhood. I went off to the military and have not had pudding since. I am 42 now, I have been around the world and ended up in Washington state. I haved craved persimmon pudding since I left home. I found some persimmons at the grocery, but they sure don't look like the ones I picked when I was young. I am going to make a serious effort to follow your recipe and taste something I haven't had in many years. God bless you 💙.

What is the white stuff?

I just realized how VERY LIGHT the persimmons are where you live. Interesting. Here, they are a 🔥 burnt, deep orange to a near fall color of brown. Not sure where all us HOOSIERS would be without persimmons, & all the goodies they make. I remember my mom making BIG persimmon cookies, & she always put a lot of black walnuts we'd gather from my great grandparents farm. Sadly, I absolutely HATE the flavor of black walnuts. 🤮

Southern Indiana = persimmon pudding 😋 I live at the very bottom of Hoosier land! Since Thursday, we're having Indiana's largest fair.... Harvest Homecoming! So much food, handmade quilt raffles, & $10, 16 oz. trays of very good WET (not cake or cookie like) persimmon pudding 😋 That, & roasted very sweet ears of corn ($4 now!) We didn't have it last year, due to covid. Absolutely 💯% PERFECT weather!! I remember when I was 6 years old when I first went. Now my adult kids & grands go. ♥️

I put much more spices in mine. I use Cinnamon, Allspice, Ginger, and Cloves. NO Nutmeg!

I made this persimmon pudding tonight and let me tell you...it was FANtastic! I only used 1/2 the sugar because my husband is borderline diabetic. It was still perfect! Thank you so much for sharing! We just discovered our wild persimmon tree and where not sure what to do with them. I do not have that problem anymore!!
