How To Make Authentic Ghanaian Meat Pie
How To Make Authentic Ghanaian Meat Pie
Ingredients
Pie Crust
1kg All-Purpose Flour (If you want it less flaky/buttery, you can use 700g)
2 tsp Baking Powder
350g Butter (I used Japanese Butter), Cold
75-80ml Very cold water (Add a little bit at a time)
1/2 -1 tsp Nutmeg (cinnamon is a good substitute)Based on preference
4 Tbsp Evaporated Milk (Optional)
1tsp salt
Pie Filling
1/2 Medium Onion
2 Cans of Corned Beef or 600 of Minced Beef
Choice of Seasoning (I usually use Curry Powder, Ginger & Garlic Powder, Thyme, and pepper Vegetable Seasoning)
Choice of Vegetables/Potatoes (I usually use Carrots, Onions, and Potatoes)
1tbsp Olive Oil
Egg Wash
1 Large Egg
2 tsp Evaporated Milk (optional)
Baking
Preheat at 350ºF/177ºC
Bake for 25-30 minutes depending on your preferred color

Thanks trying our nation's favourite dish. Glad u liked it. (PS. Nobody goes to eat chicken rice for the soup lol... its usually very plain although there's one or two franchise that offer good traditional chinese soup such as lotus root etc)
