Thanks Michael, I really like the set! Not sure why it isn't popular. I think a lot of collectors want true vintage, but there's a lot of history here on quality cards.

@@catalogedclutter7046 Action Packed was hard to collect because they didn't fit in standard top loaders and often got damaged but I think should be valued higher

@@michaeledwards1644 I honestly didn't think about that, you're right. The thicker card stock would've been a big issue. I do know the Jam Session cards Fleer tried to do had that problem. Hard to find top loaders or even plastic sheets for a three-ring binder.

Thanks so much, Jose! I got tired of watching videos on cards I can't afford when I have thousands lying around. So I figured if I wanted to spend more time with my cards, this was a fun way to do it. Hope you enjoy!

Can't believe I didn't notice that! Pippen and especially Ewing looking on really adds to the photo honestly. I never worried too much about official opinions. For me, I just enjoyed trying to find all the printing errors. I did a video of the Glen Rice rookie from this set where some of his cards had an incomplete logo. Definitely doesn't matter for value I know, but I like finding them. A lot of eBay listings try to use the printing error to inflate price. But looking at completed sales, you're right, printing errors or not, all seem to be priced as regular cards.

@catalogedclutter7046 I do like the card, and you're right about the picture. It's an iconic picture of Jordan slamming the ball. To think that card is almost 35 years old is crazy.

That's awesome! Do you happen to have the #223 Sam Vincent where Jordan is wearing a #12 jersey? There's two versions of that card, but it's really cool to see Jordan like that. Someone stole his jersey before that game.

Thanks for writing! I'm enjoying these old cards and it's amazing how fast people forget these historical players. Melchionni is the first number the Nets retired! When Ben Simmons came to the Nets and could no longer wear #25, so many new fans didn't know Melchionni. Time flies I guess!

Thanks Ryan! I've been having fun going through my collection spending time with cards I overlooked. I checked the wrapper from these preview cards. There were 7 cards in the pack, but one of them was always a Jordan insert. So 6 preview cards + 1 Jordan insert in every pack for a total of 7. But that is for the packs in these Jordan cans! You could also get 5-card packs. But when I was buying this preview set, it was mainly for the Jordan commemorative cans. So all my wrappers are the 7-card packs.

Unfortunately, not too much... They printed too many of this set so they're not rare. Mine in the video is probably worth a dollar or two. You have to have this in perfect condition for it to be worth a lot more. The left edge on mine is rough. I like it a lot though because it's the first set I collected as a kid.

I know it!!! And this '92-93 Stadium Club is so cool because you get Barkley in his Phoenix Suns uniform on card #360, but if you look hard, you get him here in the 76ers jersey. Such a neat thing! Since they used the old photo here, you get two teams in one set!

Thanks for writing! After seeing this Jordan, I learned about a lot more printing variations. It makes it a whole different set to collect. Did you happen to see my video of the Glen Rice from this set (th-cam.com/video/rfzs54588nE/w-d-xo.html). One is missing part of the flame in the Miami Heat logo. Really neat to look for these variations.

So hard to say! Depends on condition and luck almost... I've seen both versions ungraded sell anywhere from $1.50 to $10, all kinds of prices. I was trying to figure out which was more valuable with another commenter. We decided that the no-line error was a couple dollars more valuable, but that's all. Nothing too exciting.

@@catalogedclutter7046 I see some ridiculous $50,000 dollar sold prices on eBay and then you have those that sell for a few hundred bucks. It’s hard to really determine the true value of these cards. I have a mint ungraded error card myself.

Completely agree. I think the over printing and cheap price is what led me to them though, honestly. I was in junior high then, so it was one of the few sets I could afford a whole box. I will never forget pulling a Gold version of the Jordan/Penny/Shawn Kemp Mini-Card. Probably goes for about $10 today, but to me, it was like winning the lottery. Still had the thrill of the chase without spending a fortune. I didn't make the connection with that SLAM magazine cover. That's a great connection. There's this photo then on the magazine he's proving he can do it backwards too Thanks for writing!

Yes!!! I'm so happy you saw this video. Thought you would enjoy it. The numbers show, Barkley wins!!! At least for their third season... But seriously, Barkley had that many more rebounds than Garnett! He was powerful, for sure!

Thanks @DaKineSketch !!! When I started collecting these in the early '90's, I didn't realize how close of a relationship there was between NBA Hoops and Skybox. Later learned it was the same people really working hard on both of the sets. Good memories of these cards. Even as a young kid with a small allowance, these were a lot of fun!

Thanks for the comment Max. The sound is pretty bad... I've been trying to do better on my more recent videos, but I checked and they're a bit soft still. Not sure if TH-cam lets me change it after the fact. I'll try to figure something out. In my opinion the "no-line" version is more rare. Maybe 1 of those for every 4 of the normal one? But there's really no difference in price. Maybe an extra $1-$2 for the "no-line." But that's just my best guess.

@catalogedclutter7046 I think it's the opposite. I only say this because my family had a card shop during this time and right now I have 18 of those Jordan cards with only 4 of those cards having the correction (with line). I could be wrong, which is why I was asking for verification.

@@maxsanjuan2524 That's really interesting. I checked COMC out of curiosity and they have (around) 480 with the line and 150 without. Was trying to think about it... I wonder if it was like two print runs? They did a first run, caught the errors quickly, and fixed them running a lot more. The Glen Rice rookie was fixed too, they messed up the Miami Heat logo. Maybe in your family's shop, they had enough inventory early and didn't have to reorder so had more from the first run even if they are more rare? I'm completely guessing at this point though. Curious what you think.

@catalogedclutter7046 That logic makes sense from what I remember from those days. My father would pre-order a lot of cases and wouldn't get more unless he sold out. That should explain why my ratio (correct vs. error) is different than the norm. I'll need to check my Glen Rice cards even though it doesn't carry the same value as Jordan. Thanks for your time!

I heard that it does. If there are scratches, they'll grade it as a surface defect. I can't say for sure though. Check out this video (th-cam.com/video/IiKbTkToFfY/w-d-xo.html). I would never have the courage to do this, too afraid I would damage the card. But he believes the reason the card is a PSA 8 is because of the film. So he cracks it and removes the film to resubmit.

And here's another of the exact same Tim Duncan card being cracked from a slab to remove film (th-cam.com/video/I7RMO8JyvnM/w-d-xo.html). This seems like too much of a risk to me, but these collectors definitely seem to think it lowers the grade.

This one's affordable. If you're patient, you'll find them for $3-$5. Graded is always pricey. Anywhere from $20 to near $100 for a perfect 10.

Cool! The 1990 Hoops and the year before were some of the first cards I ever got. So I really enjoy them.

I agree. These '90's sets were so large that finding Jordan was an event. Then you'd find a surprise Jordan from some subset you didn't know existed. That's awesome you have that unopened box. My three-year old loves looking at cards. I give him commons and he likes taking them in and out of a binder. That's going to be a great feeling when your 8 year old gets to have the same experience you did. Thanks for sharing that!

I'm sure you're right! The Skybox from the same year loved "suit shots" on the back of the cards. But I really can't think of anything before 1990, back or front.

Thanks! That line on the back is different with a lot of cards. I'm going to make a video about two different Glen Rice rookies from this set next. On one the flame from the Heat logo is cut off, on the other it's fine.

Unfortunately not too much...I was excited about this one too when I started collecting. But they just printed way too many of them! Sometimes they don't even get $1 on eBay. Even if they get graded at PSA 9, it's hard to say if that covers the cost or not. Need a PSA 10, but that's hard to do. On the other hand, it's great for those looking for a neat card that's not expensive. Hard to believe you can add a David Robinson RC for around $1.

Thanks for the comment! Good luck on the card you're chasing. Love this set, but the Vince Carter is the only one I have. Found it years before prices took off. Didn't realize there was so much chatter about patch swapping in the forums until stumbling on some threads. I guess that's part of the hobby though! Once there's a dollar to be made, someone will try to cheat! Seemed like most of the talk of scamming involved high-dollar "logo man" situations though. Thanks for writing!

Yep, the only one in the set with an NBL reference on the front of the card. Really enjoy your videos, was watching today. The '61-62 Fleer cards in the Bill Russell video are dream cards of mine. Can't afford them anymore, prices have been wild! But maybe a bubble will pop soon? Maybe signs of falling prices in your "How to Lose" Mickey Mantle video? That was a really informative video.

That would be an exciting pull. I really think Upper Deck did the right think with the serial numbers. Makes the rookie really feel special. I remember getting some common rookies in the early 90's as a young collector and then realizing they weren't all that special. But pulling this one would be an event...just 3500 made.
