Majerhat to Ruby via Kalighat and Ballygunge should be the next Metro project in Kolkata. Sealdah flyover is very old and the govt. is planning to repair the flyover but the work has not started yet. But I think this flyover should be rebuilt as a double-decker flyover with the top section as the part of a new Metro line from Kolkata Station to Science City via Shyambazar, Sealdah and Park Circus. One part of the Mahatma Gandhi section of this flyover should be directly long connected with the Howrah Bridge for non-disruptive movement of Howrah bound traffic.
