Thank you for visiting our channel and WELCOME! This channel is dedicated to ANYONE who appreciates Black culture and wishes to gain perspective on certain issues and/or trends affecting us. We aim to show the world the diversity of Black culture and encourage all of our brothers and sisters to embrace in its beauty and uniqueness. On this channel, expect to see funny or dramatic skits, short films, dance videos, and much more! As a Black woman, I've only recently been awakened to the beauty of being Black and have begun my journey in fully embracing it. We hope to show another side of Black culture in Los Angeles and effect change in our community.
Diamonds in the Ruff
This raw short documentary is a close look into the lives of 6 African American addicts, including Director/Writer Dorothy Wilmore, who are now living in sobriety in the face of adversity in South Central. Wilmore's call to action came after reading an article with "research" suggesting that African Americans are at a predisposition to substance and alcohol abuse simply because of their stressful living conditions (i.e low income, unemployment, housing, etc). These 6 souls shatter all stereotypes about addiction in the Black community by telling very powerful, engaging, and inspiring stories which all share extreme adversity as their theme.
