I don't know to be honest. I was lucky enough to visit while they were working on it during renovations, but I haven't looked to see if they are open since then

I actually grew up close to this crossing so this was my favorite as a kid. Rengstorff is also a nice crossing too

Yeah that tends to happen with Train Simulator. My best bet is to uninstall and reinstall everything and avoid mods that might bug the route

It's the Capitol Corridor. The San Joaquins only goes as far south as Jack London Square

I think the loco should already be started, but you need to turn the isolation switch which you can do my pressing “i” until you hear a ding sound like in the video

You can also refer to the operation manual for more detailed info about starting it up

Yep, it’s unfortunate what happened. I’m pretty sure it’s a total loss for the loco but also this will set back the electrification which has been set back enough in my opinion. But I guess it lets us enjoy some of these diesels for a little longer
