Art Thou Bring Me Happiness
Art Thou Bring Me Happiness:
For Strings and Percussion
Much like Randall Standridge’s piece: Choose Joy; sometimes feeling happy is a decision. Now I know most times it isn’t; however some days to feel happy you must CHOOSE to be happy. This song is part 2 of 7 from my Diary oF Tears Project. Please note this is one of my only solid attempts at a strings piece. I added timpani and harp to help add some color. I’m not good at strings but I hope to learn how to write for them better. This piece allows me to do this. Once for the first time I posted songs I had been making on Flat.Io a Music Composition Website. And someone had commented saying to make music not noise and said I was wasting my scores. He even said I should look at his account for „good music.“ (Asshole) But then I took my songs down. I was trying to act like it didn’t get to me, I tried to keep my spirits high, but in reality I was quite hurt. But a while after I knew this much. It was noise I was proud of. To make music you must first make noise. And to the guy that commented on my songs I have a message for you: Screw you and I hope you put your pants on backward. But even with this negative feedback, I still managed to stay Happy and keep pushing!

Ryan A. Hayden
Notes to the Director:
Percussion should be extremely expressive
I ask changes to be little to none. However if needed you may make changes. (Such as lowering notes)
The Percussion and Harp parts is a massive recommendation and while isn’t 100% needed it is definitely strongly encouraged
If there is no harpist give the beginning solo to Violins (top line) and Cellos or Bass (Bottom Line) You may optionally skip this solo entirely
You should only need 4 Percussionists 1 for Timpani 1 for Mallets and 2 on Aux
