I used to work with cadavers during my clinicals & it's obvious these volunteers don't understand the way a corpse decomposes. Depending on the rate of fermentation, odor is stronger in those who eat a less than healthy diet. The bacterial overload must've been higher in this body. The discoloring of the face happens to those who die by keeling over head-first. That's why the head is supposed to be lifted so that this discoloration doesn't happen. This may have been the 1st corpse they got that experienced a prone death. As far as the weight, it could easily be a combination of Rigor Mortis, blood settling back down (after having died prone), & years of fecal build up leaching bacteria out--especially if the man's diet was poor. Rather than ask a family member, he should've spoken to a coroner or mortician. Even an undertaker could explain all this. The idea that it's b/c the man didn't pray insinuates that this happens to many who don't pray. There are more ppl in this world who don't pray in comparison to those who do, yet we don't correlate their beliefs with why a corpse displays certain signs of decay. It's very unscientific, misleading & uses fear-tactics to stimulate a reaction. As much as I respect all belief systems, I can't respect fear-mongering. Ppl should pray b/c they want to connect w/ God, not b/c they hope to gain salvation or avoid punishment. That would make the prayer self-serving. When you take the spirit out of Spiritual, all you have is ritual. Remember that.

Nice... Humility...indeed a great requirement in a prayer of any religion, not just in Islamic salah. If one can develop 'Kushoo' in their regular life, then every moment of their life would become a 'salah'. Then their every breath happens in the presence of 'Allah'.
