What can you use (for free) if you don't have acess to SAP2000? I'm doing a school project and want to design an eartquake proof building, but with the calculating part, I don't know where to start without having to use a software that costs money. Any tips? Becouse earth data comes with time and time converted to period...in this particular transition what formula we use? have any video to explain pls or planig to make such a video? thanks

According to your tutorial, any slanted cut have shear stress but normally there is no shear stress and only compressive or tensile stress in an element with two axial forces at two ends. Could you please explain this? Thank you.
