I visited Mesa Verde with a girlfriend in 1973, when none of the current development existed and we were alone there. I still remember sitting on a cliff facing west and hearing the Ravens talking to eachother. We respectfully walked through one of the cliff dwellings and it was a deeply spiritual experience I will never forget, 51 yrs. ago. The good folks in this video will never know such an experience.
Just toured Mammoth Cave this summer! I took the Wild Tour (6 miles, 6 hours) SUPER strenuous but absolutely amazing. This has got to be one of the most unique National Parks I’ve ever been to!
Wow.. it seems/looks pretty scary walking on the side of those cliffs... and that tiny skinny tunnel, I wonder if I could fit through, how wide was it?
It just looks smaller than it is, but it is a long hike. So you need to be in reasonable shape to hike it. It is a moderate trail, and you do climb a cliff.
I can’t wait until I visit. Literally I’m going to feel so grateful for every second I’m out there after the journey it took
Did you actually try the WiFi before commenting about it in the video? Just curious because when I visited there was zero WiFi and all the staff I asked about it spoke about it as if it never works
In all the parks that we visit, WiFi is limited. I look at it as a gift if we can get it, rather than a requirement. Every park service will disclaim WiFi service simply because people will complain if they can't get it, but in this case, yes, I remember that we had service. Of course service is conditional on many factors. We were probably lucky that our room was closer to the access point. We were there at a time school was in session, so there were less people using all the bandwidth, etc. My device happens to have an awesome radio card that helps with signal. All these factors contribute to any park we visit. Could I watch a Netflix movie? No, but I could certainly read email, make reservations, etc.
Not to brag, well only a little brag, I did the hike to the top of Guadalupe Peak 8,700 some feet up there, back in 2015 at 57 years old. I trained up by walking up and down my hill I live on, and it came in handy. But, boy was that an adventure, and the change in the habitat ecology was so fascinating. It went from desert, to just rocky and windy, to Ponderosa Pines, to grassy and windy, to rocky and windy, to cold and windy. I did it in Apr 15, so about the same time of year you was there. One of best views I've seen, and It was so cool. I felt like doing the Rocky jog at the top! Don't know if I could do it now...I'd like to think I could....but I agree with you, the McK. Canyon would be where I would head. I started on it on a 2nd visit, but didn't go far, because we were on traveling. Glad you enjoyed the Frijole Springs site; I also like that too. Good place for a picnic. Thank you for doing a video on this wonderful park.
What time of year did y’all visit?
April 25, Spring time when the flowers were starting to bloom.
thank you for your video. this is exactly what i want to do when i retire with my wife.... tour national parks. I am so jealous of you.
I really enjoyed your inspiring enthusiasm and joy! Thankyou!
@@Carinjks Thanks!
Im here now. Did grand avenue tour. Tomorrow is lost river boat ride then river styx tour. Day 3 is intro to caving. This area is fun and staying in cave city.
Wonder where that's at Colorado Maybe
yes it's in Colorado. The place is called Mesa Verde National Park - title of the video
I have a picture of my buddies and me on our motorcycles in front of that sign that was taken during a cross country trip from North Carolina to Western Wyoming in 1984! You're gonna have a great time, no doubt about it! Happy trails!
The hike to Pratt cabin in McKittrick canyon is well worth it.
I really wished we had more time. I would have loved to see it!
We live about a half days drive from Guadalupe and have never been even though we've traveled around most of NM and west Texas. Your video inspired me to go see this beautiful Nat'l park and we weren't disappointed. A hidden gem for sure!
Great place. Loved hiking there. Went there to a attend a funeral of a childhood friend who lived there and died from a drug overdose. Spectacular
This is the best video I've seen on the park, super helpful for someone looking to visit! Would love to see you guys do videos on Arches and Canyonlands!
We plan on it! Thanks!
I really enjoyed the music
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. BACK IN MY YOUNG DAYS, 40+ YEARS AGO, I HIKED ALL OVER THE GUADALUPES, FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP WHERE THERE ARE PINE FORESTS. I I GREW UP SOUTHWEST OF THERE IN SIERRA BLANCA TX.
Wow!, I cannot imagine 40 years ago! It is beautiful wilderness now, I bet it was really pristine then! 🙂
I'm going to guess that Bill is a Scorpio and Debbie is a Pisces.
🤣😂 close 🤣
@@TravelNationalParks what are your actual signs?
Thank you for your video. We just came back from the park and loved it.
I feel like Grand Teton always gets overshadowed by Yellowstone, but it's a beautiful park in its own right, one of the best in the country! I'm gonna have to do the Jenny Lake boat tour when I'm there.
Love this video 😍🥰 definitely want to visit it
I just subbed. Great coverage and editing. I’m visiting 6 National Parks next year. I’d love to see them thru your videos until then.
Awesome coverage! I’m going to visit the National Parks next June. Starting in New Mexico and making our way up to Glacier NP in Montana. We’ll be seeing Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, The Grand Tetons, Yellowstone National Park. I’m so excited about this trip!
Sounds like a great trip! Have fun!
Don’t miss Arches NP
What a great video! I was there in late Sept. 2023, but unfortunately the main road was closed due to construction. Now that I've seen all I missed, I definitely must return.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is absolutely beautiful. I'm visiting the Redwood forests next week and this video has me very excited to see these giant and wise beings.
Hope you enjoy it!
I've heard this one is really underrated. It looks beautiful!
It really seems like y'all were blown away by this Park. I'm gonna have to visit this one sometime!
It's just after seeing deserts and mountains, rivers and crayons, it was so awesome to see a park that focuses on living things. Much less the biggest living things on earth!
This one's been on my to-do list for years! I've always enjoyed watching your National Park vlogs. Glad to see you're still traveling!
Thanks! Yes, we just completed another 12 parks!
Your video is GREAT and Very Informative!!! Thanks, a lot it sure Looks fun!!! Safe Travels.
The nephilim ate them !
Enjoyed your video looks like a very nice place to visit.
Really? You went for a hike at 106F without water? You are a bad influence on would be visitors. Never hike without water in those kinds of temperatures.
Hmmm, not sure what you heard James, but we drank an entire bottle of water before our hike, took water with us and I advised many times how important hydration is per the ranger's advice. But thanks for reminding everyone how dangerous heat can be. 🙂
Go to the bottom as well as the top. It's absolutely worth seeing. Super underrated, never many people there. Something you will remember.
We did 3 great tours last year. Nice video 😊
great youtube. thank you.

KEEP YOUR EYES OUT FOR ILLEGALS! CARTELS AND DRUGS THIS IS A ROUTE FOR THEM WON'T EVER GO THERE!

Thank you for your video. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go, but after watching your video, I will definitely Be going.
Incredible views!
Our home park! Great video 👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed! We certainly did 🙂
Terrific views of the park and very well narrated. I'm going out there next month and I had pretty much decided that trail hiking would be out of my range of physical ability, but many of the trails you showed here are so well developed that I actually think I can do one or two of those! Thanks very much for that! Happy Trails!
I first hiked McKittrick canyon in the 90 s. Surprisingly, it has not deteriorated much, unlike other National Parks trails. I always hike at least to the cabin. Highly recommend trail.
Enjoyed watching your visit to Mesa Verde National Park. Hope to travel there soon.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Yes, thanks, I realized that after I said it but just never got back to edit it. Lol, could be a new species! 😀
