JEEP REAR DIFFERENTIAL NOISE ( PROBLEM FOUND! )
Driving back home and heard a noise in the rear of the jeep. The noise grew fast and this is what I found when I pulled it apart!

Great video
Doesn't that have the db kiler or doesn't it use?
Like others have asked: What Was The Sound?
Did you have a roaring sound when you are driving
Did you have a roaring sound when you are driving
Does this work for 2.7mm diameter galvanize wire?
2.6 is max, sorry.
Great Job.... I'm doing this tomorrow, Thanks for the FANTASTIC VIDEO. T/U 11
Cool thanks
Beautiful job, muffler is better than new.
Also makes it high tensile
Very nice, I am currently building one but it won't be this flash. Yours is the only one that I have seen on TH-cam that has the inlet and exhaust as per the plan. Most others have them reversed? Well done indeed.
All under squeezed, 1 was too short
How would you describe the noise you heard before the repair? I have a whining hummning noise over 40mph in my jeep compass...
Why you covered the license plate? People behind you in traffic see it. Or do you drive around with it covered?
What you lacked in narration, you more than made up for in camera work. I felt like I was right up in there with that drill bit. Haha. pretty sweet man.
The noise in mine isn't so bad but I have bad wheel hop in the rear and I'm wondering if this is what's wrong.
Wheel hop is from axle wrap. Work out shocks and leaves letting the axle want to twist.
Why not just talk?
@@1derman287 it's less editing for you and way easier for the viewer. You must be embarrassed of your voice pee-wee
thats a nice little portable foundry kit
Nice job ! Wich kind of clear coat is suitable for this alu badge ?
We used a crystal clear urethane power coat, baked at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. Thanks for your comment and for watching!
You did an excellent job with squeezer you have, but what I noticed is there's an ever so slight peak on the rivet due to the arc of the tool itself. 1000's if not millions of planes have been built with that style squeezer so not really an issue. Just an interesting observation....
thank you for this
Hope it helped, Thanks for watching!
I just did mine and u can get away without removing the trail arm bolt
We will try it your way in the future, Thanks for the comment!
Excellent Video! Thank you!
Good to hear, Thanks for watching!
Where can I buy a full set
You can try the dealership or an OEM parts distributor, I would not recommend aftermarket bearings. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching, Hope it helped!
Works a treat - thank you for this neat trick
I'm happy you found it useful, Thanks for watching!
a man of few words.... good vid, looking for a vid on replacing swaybar on my 02 edge 700, cant seem to find one
Not sure where to find an edge video, but thank you for the comment and for watching.
How often do you refill the air cylinder? Can you a do lot of that in one go?
The vice is powered by compressed air. As long as the air compressor is on and supplying air to the vice, it will open and close as many times as you want. Thank You for the comment!
Thank you for making the video!! Sir what year jeep was it? I have a 2007 make an a real bad loud whining noise from the rear? Thanks 💯👍
The Jeep is a 1998 Grand Cherokee, Thank you for watching and for the comment!
I have a 2007 as well did you ever figure out the noise?
@@King-atem I have a 2008, did you figure out the source of the noise? TY

@@King-atem I changed the outside wheel bearings in the rear and the noise stopped. Thanks for your response
If I am looking for that tool where should I start to look? Ty
You can buy them at The Yard Store, they have new and used one's. Also look on E bay, Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten this trick. Subscriber #90
Happy to rejog the memory, Thank You!
Am I able to order those attachments you put on the riveter online
You can purchase squeeze sets from the yard store online, sometimes they come up on ebay to!
Are these steel rivets
The rivets being used in the video are aluminum.
thanks for the video. please can you specify the brand and model of the drill?, when i try mine and the wire comes loose from the drill
The drill I used is a Makita, it has a 1/2'' chuck. If the wire is to small to hold in the center of the chuck jaws, try putting it in off center between two of jaws then tightening. This has worked for me with small gauge wire. Thanks for watching!
WHAT! That’s insane! You are so lucky that thing just flew off!
Yes VERY fortunate! In situations where motorcycle chains break, I could not have asked for a better outcome! Thanks for watching!
Want to buy this item, how much price?
The vise is not for sale. I purchased it from an antique tool show a number of years ago. Thank You!
This ok but wire harden increase so if want bend that time chanse to broken
Thank you for your comment and insight!
I have some piano wire, would this work for that
Not sure? Give it a try!
Very cool!!
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing. Can you you please tell the brand and model of the air cylinder? It what I exactly need for a project.
The only markings on the vise is the manufactures name PALMGREN, there is no model# serial# or ID#. Good luck in your search and with your project!

How necessary is this sway bar? I need to replace bad inner bushings and outer bushings are missing completely. Just found out my neighbor removed his bar completely and it seems to be fine.
Sway bar in VS sway bar out is an ongoing debate, It all depends on the machine your experience and terrain you will be riding.
From my experience it will dart a little without it
What size rivet did u use and what was the black stuff u put on first?
The fastener diameter was .191'' with a .450'' length (not factory) something I had laying around. The black stuff is permatex gasket maker sealant.
dude thanks for making this video just saved me so much work
Happy it helped! Ride safe! Cheers!
Where did you get the new bushing and what size sway bar is on this sled
Bushings were purchased form DT powersports and marine in Uxbridge Ontario Canada, part # 5432412, bar size .565''
