Looks beautiful, Jon 👍 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.🎅❄🎄☃⛄
@@GrandadsOtherChannel merry Christmas to you too 🎄
At that price it’s a no-brainer, especially with a two year diary. A nice, uncluttered layout too! I also like the plastic dividers. I might mention your review in a future podcast. Thanks for sharing.
What e bike are you using thanks
@@Djbooney525 Carrera Subway E 2.0
@JonByrne could you put a link to the site selling this ebike thank you in advance also how long have you had yours and reliability and performance how good is it ?
How did you feel going up that monster hill?
@@vijaymistry5623 the one up penny lane? That was fine
Im looking for a new ebike to travel from Ashton to Cheadle something that can do a round trip of 28 miles
@@vijaymistry5623 mine is a Carrera Subway E 2.0. I would be happy taking on that journey on this.
@@JonByrne thanks for responding, I'm thinking of buying the carrera crossfuse
Great video by the way 👏
Hia pal what ebike have got?
52 seconds of faff today. I'm getting a little suspicious you are editing some of the faff out!!!!
@@simonchurchley8088 ha ha well I suppose it just depends when I start the recording.
Going to include the premiere 2 minute countdown in the Faff!
Needs a bigger motor my friend, is this a 500w motor?
@@RoughWalkers it's a 250w nominal which is the legal maximum. Plenty of power for me.
@@JonByrne from what iv learnt its the throttle thats illegal and its what the police look for .... they cant judge the watts from looking at the motor and need actually evidence that its over 250w which is impossible unless they catch you doing 16mph+ A police officer we spoke too confirmed this... because they cant have proof unless theres a throttle as he said if you have a throttle you need to pass your CBT licence but other than that they cant gather evidence unless theyve clocked you Same applies when they catch you speeding, unless they have actual evidence they cannot prosecute
You appear to be holding a decent lick . what bike is it ?
@@jezztech it's a Carrera Subway E 2.0 top assistance speed is 25km but it gets there pretty quickly.
@@JonByrne it's certainly in it's element then . Nice video.
A lovely 2 mins and 15 secs of pure faff at the start of the ride. Subscribed!!! More faff please!!!!
It would have been shorter but I was trying to work out where to meet someone for a coffee, It turned out they were still in bed b
Great video Jon - reminds me of when I used to cycle from Altrincham into Salford everyday for work - what I would have given for an electric bike in those days!!
"This is Jesse Mach, an ex-motorcycle cop, injured in the line of duty. Now a police troubleshooter, he's been recruited for a top secret government mission to ride Street Hawk -- an all-terrain attack motorcycle designed to fight urban crime, capable of incredible speeds up to three hundred miles an hour, and immense firepower. Only one man, federal agent Norman Tuttle, knows Jesse Mach's true identity. The man...the machine...Street Hawk"
I used to have a small wheeled bike as a teenager. My Bro had a Moulton with the very small wheels. Mine were larger, but still smaller than regular bikes. It was a Dawes Kingpin. No idea why I should remember that, when I struggle to remember what I had for breakfast or what day of the week it is 🤣🤣
@@GrandadsOtherChannel kingpins have 20 inch wheels. Moulton's are 16 like the Brompton I think. Kingpins are considered the best of the 20 inch wheeled bikes by many.
@@JonByrne It served me well, until I moved on to motorbikes 😁😁
Rather you than me. We are taking a short break by the sea. Interesting weather 🤣🌧☔
The ride home wa even worse! Actually broke my phone on the ride home I got so wet. I forgot to put it in my bag so it was just in my supposidly waterpoof pocket.

Just found your channel, I commute to work on my bike as well.
How far do you commute, where in the world are you?
Shaw Heath, and only to the bottom Of Edgely, not as far as you lol
Nice ride - what's the bike? Looks like the same speedo as a MiRider.
@@scoombs3871 it's the Carrera Subway E 2.0 I like the display nice and simple but clear.

Still beat you to the office 😂
@@JonByrne I will arrive first one day!!! Might take a while mind you :)
Good job Joe :)
I used to cycle from crumpsall to Stockport to work every day. Would take about 35 minutes on a good day.
I think I will stick with my car although I am sure you are fitter and healthier than me. It's just that you are also wetter and sweatier than me. I did cycle to work back in the 80s. The traffic was always solid and I was lucky to average 15 MPG in my car when I drove to work. No cycle lanes back then 🙁
Responsible riding. It was actually good to see a ride section that was not filled with incidents. Some nasty potholes. One has to be eternally vigilant and attentive when cycling in urban and rural. I cycled around City of Bristol every day for three years. Lots of hazards, but very good experience, and enjoyable. In those three years I was never knocked off. Happy days.
@@cervelo9465 thank you. I try and avoid anything dramatic. Luckily so far over the last 4 years of regular commuting I've only has one accident when a pedestrian ran into the road. Luckily I was not going too fast we hit the ground but only scrapes and a damaged helmet.
Get yourself some grown up transport.by that i mean something powered by a combustion engine
@@andrewthomas2406 I'm fine thanks. I've got a car but it takes just as long and cost much more to get to work.
Those days are over I'm afraid due to overpopulation and too many cars on the road for the infrastructure to cope with.
Our cities would be so much more vibrant if many of us who are capable would cycle. People don't seem to understand the benefits for health, local economy and their own financial well-being if they scrapped the car.
nice ride bro
Does your route werks rattle?
@@JohnDoe-yh9gi no not partically as long as I close the lid correctly.
What a complete waste of time 👎
Not everything is made for you buddy
It all seems a bit energetic for me. That was a good run. A fair bit of heavy breathing at the end 🤣

hey jon how are you !?. im new to pov riding but i use an e scooter , may i ask what camera you use ?
@@Unknownlondonrider hello, it's just a Gopro hero 5 I got it for £40 off vinted. Worth looking out for.

Slow cyclist gets overtaken, wow...
No problem getting overtaken, but give me some space and dont do it as we approach a roundabout.
You are certainly testing the duration 👍
You covered some miles today 👍
👍😁
That was a nice efficient ride. About 2.5 to 3 kilometres im guessing? I just got my first e-bike two weeks ago and it's great for getting up to 25 kmh without any effort but it's also making it easier to get up to 30-35 kmh manually beyond the assist on flat ground with no headwind. And downhill I've got up to 55 kmh. But against a strong headwind and facing up the hills it really takes the grind out of a 20 km commute compared to my ordinary basic hybrid and it's a real alternative to taking the car.
@@tconnolly9820 yes it's about that far, I cut a little off the beginning for privacy reasons. We have two offices the other one is about 15km which you can see on some of my other videos, it's really to help with those tired days or where I have something to do when I get home. So far top speed is lower than my other bikes but as your say getting to that 25km/h mark is much faster and easier.
That's a nice short distance. I got a class 3 ebike that goes up to 28mph/45kmh (in reality, it mostly goes around 22mph/35kmh), because my office is about a 10mi/16km bike ride and that speed makes the trip reasonable. Also, for the times where I have to ride on the 40mph/65kmh main road, I want to be going at least somewhat close to the speed of the cars around me, given that there is no bike or walking path leaving my apartment onto the main road. Fortunately my route to work has a secret safe path through the transfer station behind the apartment, but if I want to go east, that route takes me on a different main road anyway.
What mount do you use to put the gopro on the handlebars??
One of these www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006117814883.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.77.4dd21802vtcJWo

The stabilisation on GoPros is legendary. I may have to buy one in the end, just to check it out for myself 😁👍
This is a Go pro Hero 5 so quite old, I paide about £40 for it, but it is the first one that had the gyroscope in I think. I have a 4 which I might do a comparison with.
A bit of a squeek on those brakes 🤣
Just a little bit 😊 I have new discs ready to go on, these have deformed a little. I had not planned on riding in on it today but had a mechanical issue this morning so have to do a last minute swap. That being said noisy brakes can be a very effective warning signal.
Moving along at a good rate there, John 👍
