Can I use regular spun polyester thread, or does it have to be a thread specifically made for embroidery?
Embroidery thread is finer and shiny, the result may vary if you use regular thread.
I have a treadle machine but the when i tried to sew over a stitch to fill up the pattern my needle jerk abit bcs it got stuck.. im practising to fill up the gaps but it keeps getting stuck.. have u ever encountered this? I used a size 11 needle.
Maybe you should try other type of needle with the same size. I mean a different brand. Sometimes it works.

Prior to watching this video, I was disheartened to see that most of the embroidery videos were using an industrial zigzag machine since I only have the vintage model. It may add an extensive labor due to the need to frequently slide the fabric side to side, but you inspired me. I do have some questions, though. Which is better: with or without a darning foot? Are there advantages of using a darning/embroidery foot?
Thank you for your question, it's good to ask since I never think about using the darning foot on my embroidery. Give me some time to try on my vintage sewing machine. I need to buy the darning foot, since I never have one. Stay tune
Ada perbezaan tk hasil sulam goyang ni menggunakan mesin jahit treadle dan mesin jahit industri? Saya minat nk belajar sulam goyang dan mahu membeli mesin industri tapi dari video2 mesin jahit treadle ni lebih lambat and senang utk dikawal dari mesin jahit industri yg guna pedal😅
Memang berbeza hasil sulamnya. Mesin jahit sulam industri lebih mudah dan cepat. Saya bermula dengan mesin treadle kemudian upgrade ke mesin sulam industri. Boleh saja beli mesin industri, berlatih menggerakkan pemidang dan lutut untuk melebarkan sulaman. Selamat berjaya !

Mesin jahit hitam klasik ni lebih banyak menggoyang untuk menghasilkan zig zag. Kemahiran menggoyang sangat penting untuk menghasilkan sulaman yang cantik

For the portable sewing machine, there is another way to use it for the embroidery purpose
Thank you for the video sharing, I was about to learn this embroidery method with my old sewing machine, may I know what is the needle size that I should you when I do this embroidery? And my second question is can I use ordinary sewing thread in my practice lesson?
The size of the needle is 10, or at least 11. The smaller the beter. There is a big difference using the ordinary sewing thread and embroidery thread. Ordinary sewing thread is a bit thick . Even if you’re going to use it for the purpose of practicing , the result will be very poor. You’ll be demotivated to see your embroidery.

Any brand will do. As for me I'm using Dolphin and Senorita
@@sewmaniac6056 I have got some embroidery threads to try out following your teaching but having problem with the zigzag motion. May I know what's the catch to make the zigzag motion.
Try this slowly ; pull your hoop to the right or left when your needle is up. Keep on doing it until you get a rhythm. Focus on minute 1:36 to 2:00 in the video. For a start you just need to practice the ziz zag stitch. Don't bother to make the even stich at this level of learning. All you need is how to control your hand pulling the hoop to the left and right while the needle is working up and down.

Why you don’t need to make de a darning foot? My machine won’t make stitches if I don’t put in foot no matter how tight is the fabric 🥺

Waalaikum salam. Goyang kaki tu hanya untuk menggerakkan jarum. Focus pada jarum dan pemidang. Apabila jarum naik ke atas, masa tu gerakkan pemidang. Buat selalu sampai satu tahap nanti, awak akan dapat rentak (rhythm) yang hanya awak saja faham. Awak akan dapat rentak bila nak gerakkan pemidang. Tengok video basic embroidery tu berulang² dari situpun awak akan nampak rentak yang saya maksud.

@@littlenanick2652 untuk mesin classic hitam tu gerakan kaki sahaja diperlukan untuk mengayuh mesin. Manakala gerakan lutut hanya untuk mesin heavy duty sahaja. Lutut diperlukan untuk menolak pedal jarum agar jahitan menjadi lebarž
