    If you didn't want to hand code in the field mapping objects, you could also use a da.SearchCursor object on the input features, store those in a list or in generator expressions, and then immediately insert them with an InsertCursor into the target dataset making sure that the field list argument for the search and insert operations are mapped by index. Or you could build dictionaries and map them in the main insert loop.

    • @GeospatialGuy
      @GeospatialGuy 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Amazing, I like the dictionary idea. However human logic is needed, because sometimes the fields have nothing in common.

    This looks amazing, well done! And thanks for all the material on your channel, very helpful. I was able to do a workaround to get something similar for the plan view and the elevation profile. However, I don't understand the nature of the element that fills in the engineering data from the *.csv file. Is it a graph in disguise, or a separately generated element added as a picture in the dedicated area, or something else? Best regards,

    • @GeospatialGuy
      @GeospatialGuy 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi mate, thank you for your feedback, it means a lot to me. All main parts are dataframes, i mean Plan view, Section view and Engineering view are all dataframes with layers saved into geodatabases and generated from csv's (csv's are similar of what i have displayed). This means labels and symbologies are dynamic, and can be modified. However, I have been buzzy with my current project to proceed with more videos. But very soon I will have time and I will upload more content about this matter, dont get me wrong but I have spent several weekends preparing this script and it is not 100% finished (at least what I'm thinking of).

    • @GeospatialGuy
      @GeospatialGuy ปีที่แล้ว

      The scale has to do with Arcgis pro annotation size, when exported in cad normally they will have the same size that you have in Arcgis pro (at least in version 3.2). However, to control your size there is a column in the annotation layer named *Font Size* , if you change the font size number (for your case make it smaller) the CAD output will have smaller annotations as well. Hope it helps

    • @GeospatialGuy

      @@emersoncardenas I understand your question, but is not possible to do it. You can export layers from Arcgis into CAD layers, search in geoprocessing for the tool named "Export to CAD", export all your layers into CAD then create the layout from CAD. Unfortunately, that's the only way, or you can try to export it into AIX and then open it with Adobe Illustrator (however this is not a good solution).

    What if the map has many pages such that if the overview shows every page it becomes unreadable or too small.

    • @GeospatialGuy
      @GeospatialGuy ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats true, but you must play with scale and text size. Let say if there is a big area covered with over 100 maps, of course, you will keep the appropriate index map scale so the polygons are visible. This means that a lot of polygons will be outside of the canvas, but it gives you an idea of where is located the current one.
