    Hello, it's a pleasure to greet you, thank you for your video, it helped me a lot, but I see that you use a diagnostic tool but do you have any special programs? Can you give me some more advice? I did everything mechanically but it still does not remove the error, although I have used another ELM 327 diagnostic system, it does not allow me to remove the error on the car's dashboard.

      I used Leaf Spy Pro and diagnostic tool was Konnwei KW902. Good luck🙂

    I don't have a error code reader. But, when I apply the parking brake, the LED flashes red, nothing happens. Is this the same behavior as the car in this video? Do you have to reset the error code for it to start working again? The LED just flashes as before after the fix, and it does not even try. I've removed the electronic braking unit and opened the lid, and it was almost stuck, moved slightly in one direction only when I hooked it up directly to the battery. Fixed that problem, and it now moves all the way in both directions. But no change after hooking it up to the car.

    Hallo, I've done the same but had a slight different problem. Fixed itand it works, but im getting a fault error saying tension sensor signla invalid. Ive got no clue what this might be. I tried adjusting the tension underneath, but then it doesnt brake 😅

    Thanks for this video. I had to manually release the electronic parking brake after 12v battery failure. Parking brake light is blinking now on dash. Would the parking brake be 'reset' if I apply power to it with a 12v battery like you do at 3:15?

    • @trashprojects2042
      @trashprojects2042 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm afraid you have to delete fault memory to get it to work again.

      @@trashprojects2042 Thanks for reply. I probably will have to go to a mechanic for that? I tried clearing the DTC's with Leafspy Pro but that didn't solve the problem. Also resetting system by disconnecting battery for 5 minutes didn't do the trick.

    • @koruws

      @@trashprojects2042 Visited mechanic and they couldn't access the EHS system. Said they needed to keep it for a day to find the fault. Not keen on doing that as they probably won't be able to get rid of the error. Have reset all DTC's with Leafspy Pro and am only left with U1000 00C0 EV/HEV CAN Comm Circuit, P31B9 00C0 EV/HEV and U1000 0009 METER CAN Comm Circuit faults. So no parking brake DTC but still have the blinking parking light on dash with, as a result, the yellow and red system fault lights.

    Great video and about to embark on this myself! I’ve got the unit out, but what fuse did you use to test with the battery and which holes in the unit’s plug? Bottom two?

    • @davidkeenan
      @davidkeenan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, did it matter how far in or out the handbrake was engaged when retesting and installing or does it recalibrate itself when connecting back on engaging?

    A super video, I had a similar problem with the parking brake on my 2012 Nissan Leaf, stripped everything down just like you but found No corrosion, tested with battery on bench everything fine worked perfectly, refitted everything but still would not work at all, Was unable to find Any information on the whole parking brake system and noted on EV car forums there was also complete lack of knowledge of this problem and talk of NISSANS quote of £2500 to repair the problem ! Absolutely ridiculous this unfortunately is where NISSAN fail there customers, I was able to repair the fault eventually at a total cost of NIL to me. keep up the good work, cheers.

    Hei, Flott video. Har en 2012 med fungerende elektrisk håndbrekk. Skal skifte klosser og skive. Vet du om jeg må "kalibrere" håndbrekket etterpå? Isåfall kan man gjøre dette i leafspy pro?

    • @trashprojects2042

      No, you don't need to calibrate it. Only adjust shoes by turning an adjusting bolt with screwdriver through a hole in brake disc.

    What is the root cause of this problem? Is it that plastic gear that is seized? Out of adjustment?

    • @trashprojects2042
      @trashprojects2042 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my case it was this plastic gear that has seized. I don't know why, there wasn't any rust there but boring it out helped and it still works :-)

      @@trashprojects2042 This was not at all clear in the video as it ran at warp speed with no caption at all. I surmised that later that it must have just been very tight on the axle, but at first I thought that the worm gear teeth on the rear of the white sprocket wheel was stripped and chewed to pieces :D

    Thanks a lot for the video, it helped me replacing the actuator myself. My car was fine and had no warning lights when I delivered my car to service at the local Nissan dealer in my town, but when I got it back it had the red and yellow warning lights, and they told me I had to pay around 2800USD (25000NOK) to get it fixed. Around 2600USD (23000NOK) was the price of the part, and the rest was their estimate for the work needed. Instead of trying to fix the part like you did I found out that the part number for this is 36035-3NA0E (The original part number is 36035-3NA0B, but it has been replaced by 36035-3NA0E as shown here: www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-actuator-assy-p~36035-3na0b.html ). The cheapest webshop with many positive comments I could find was texas based courtesyparts.com where its costs 716USD when checking now. I paid 742USD for the part + 216USD for shipping, and I expect I will get a separate bill for the Norwegian VAT, but it is still a lot cheaper than what the local Nissan dealer was trying to charge. The link to the part: www.courtesyparts.com/oem-parts/nissan-actuator-assembly-parking-brake-360353na0e. I just received the part before the weekend and it contained the complete hand brake actuator including the metal bracket that it is placed on. Removing the old one was quite simple after watching your video, and putting the new on back on was also quite easy. I dont have access to tools for deleting fault codes so I had to get help from another garage that deleted the fault codes and initialised the hand brake. Now I dont have any warning lights and the hand brake works.

    What are you using to heat up the screws around 4:30? Are you doing that because of threadlocker?

      Thanks for question. I'm using an induction heater mainly because of corossion of aluminium housing. Without heating the screw would brake.

      Hi! i greased up the wires, and ran the handbrake engine, via battery back and forth a couple of times, and then it magically worked! But after 5 tries, the error came back. It was a scratching sound, that came from the manual release wire. Maybe it was stuck in a middle position? Now the handbrake runs smoothly, and had to erase dtc code to make it work. Hopefully this will hold! Thanx for helping us out with great videos!
