You need to put the plow in V plow mode or you can’t back away from it!
My plow has a broken stand. I took it off yesterday and it gravity down. So it must have gotten air in system. Now what happens? Thank you for an answer
The video sound is pretty good, beyond my imagination
Saved me lots of time. Thank you for such a straightforward video
An important note, this only works smoothly if the truck and the plow are on a perfectly level cement pad, if it is on a slightly uneven dirt area, plan on 45 minutes of finagling, beating with a hammer, cursing and more beating with a hammer. When you give up, try again the following day with more beating of a hammer and cursing and it might work. Also, in my case I bought two plows that were identical, and had mounts put on two pickup trucks, trying to switch back and forth between the two is just about impossible. I am sad that Boss has not yet reached a point in their company history that they have deemed it worthwhile to hire an engineer to help with a design of their connection system, & don't get me started on the 13 prong plug! Having whined all of this, I am an absolute amateur. Perhaps Boss plows are not appropriate for complete beginners like me. Perhaps they are only made for people who have mechanical experience and experience plowing. In that case, I am sorry about my comments and would appreciate suggestions for quick connect plow systems that actually work.
If you're beating on it with a hammer you are definitely doing something wrong. Yes, the plow needs to be on a pretty level surface but definitely not a concrete pad. I have guys that drop them in dirt, mud, on wood pallets and never have issues hooking back up. You need to think ahead before you drop the plow, that's all. As far as switching between the two different truck, I've never heard of such a thing. We switch between trucks all the time, never have an issue. It sounds like you need to visit a good dealer who can check and make sure both plows and trucks are adjusted properly, the push beam (on the truck) is at the correct height, and make sure you have one that can show you how to properly operate and show you how to take it on/off the truck. There's a lot of bad dealers out there, make sure you deal with a good one.
you didnt read the fine print on the stickers on the back of the plow it says you must park it in a heated garage with heated floors so there is no snow on the plow or truck tires you must also have a fully stocked beer fridge so when it doesnt go on the first time you can chill for a moment and have a cold one these plows are not for suckers like me and you and many others that try to put them on in 2 feet of snow with a floor jack trying to get the pins to go in the holes while freezing your ass off lol hope this helps

Ok
Can't get plow off plow is off the wholes but want let go
Exactly! I have found that it takes about 45 minutes of cursing and beating it with a hammer and ramming the truck forward and back and lifting the plow up and down, beating it with a hammer, cursing and then maybe you will get lucky and it will work. :(
Great explanation!
Great vid! well said.
Excellent job my brother, thanks!
great informative video... thanks my man
Dumb question, When I park my truck, should I put the control in "red float" mode? Or do I just drop the plow in green and shut the truck off?
Good question. To be honest I don't have an educated answer on this but I don't see an issue with putting the plow in float "red mode" and shutting the truck off. It's what I've done with my plow for years and haven't had an issue. I guess it ensures that the plow is definitely on the ground and that all hydraulic pressure is released. Hope that helps.
Thank you for this! the 1st time I put my plow on I got it on by myself and I was so proud and also so not confident that I did it right that I called a male friend who plows over to check it. Every year when I put it on now if I am dating someone I usually ask my boyfriend to help me. I should know by now that a TH-cam video is much better than just "any" individual who happens to have testosterone in their system. I had a different plow before this one and it was a bear. This Boss is so much easier to put on and I am a novice. I only put it on once a year and take it off once a year. yesterday my radiator sprung a leak and I had to take it off again... i only put it on last week so it did not seem so foreign. great video. great plow. if only it came in pink.🥰😜
Separate switch for lights?
How are these plows holding up under commercial use? I have a 2016 1500 Chevy.
They have been holding up well in all applications. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy commercial use but I have guys using it for 5-10 driveways and it is holding up well.
Tim Goff thanks for the info.
Dude, Thank You!!! I've struggled so much with that idiotic seat. Maybe after your guidance I will no longer think it's idiotic.
Happy to help! It gets easier with time.
