Why Simulation Training Matters
มุมมอง 512 หลายเดือนก่อน
At Next LX, we're developing a simulation-based training program that prepares candidates for the AI-powered workplace. We call it a "flight simulator for office work." But why build such a simulator? Let's explore the compelling reasons behind this innovative approach to skill acquisition. Why not use zettelkasten format…l use chatgpt and once we reach 80% token limit, I 11:57 have her create ZKs of the chat then later I’ll paste each into Obsidian…I want to see if I should use Bear as well or not
thank you for sharing, i'll be in my last year of university next year and i'd like to work on a p2p application for my thesis, i'd like to create a decentralized university library where each university that joins the network can add articles, books etc... that will be directly accessible to all the other universities or researchers, is it possible to create this kind of application with DXOS? if not, could i have a clue? thank you!
This is definitely possible in DXOS. If you join our discord, I can answer more specific questions.
Rewrite it in Rust shirt! 🤘🦀
It's da best! I need more Fission-originated swag 🙂
great demo
Thanks! ☺
I saw you use Tomato 2 as a pomodoro timer on your Mac. But there is no version for IOS. I'm wondering to know when you take your break of 5 minutes if you go away of your computer, what do you do to know that the break is ended?
When I'm streaming, I just walk back to my desk every so often to check on Tomato 2. When not streaming, I don't take the 5 min breaks too literally. I have a loop I walk around my neighborhood that takes 5-7 minutes. However! I'm building a tiny little pomodoro app that syncs across devices, just to play with some new tech.
Love your approach to thinking. A few weeks ago, I was in exactly the same boat as you at the start of this video. I saw a later video of yours switching from Bear to Obsidian, but I'm wondering if you ever managed to find a workflow that simplifies things for you.
Multi-timers can be helpful for various exercises... Tabata (20s work 10s rest), EMOM (every minute on the minute), breath exercises like box breathing or Wim Hoff.......
Old Lambda student here Glad you're still doing these man
Hey Rick! Thanks!
Amazing! We should connect, because I’m aiming for a very similar result, albeit, different architecture. Svelte is awesome so far!

thanks!
"git checkout 29ded06ff58026b7cf55e12ac631251ee5e98224" for the jess's mumblr-generator changes at the end of this video also make sure to run mumblr-generator on nodejs version 16 or higher i think should work. node version 14 throws an err
Ah, thanks! This is a great feature I could add to each of these streams: the starting and ending git commits. Brilliant.
Welcome back! Ping me if you're stuck on anything TypeScript :)
Hey Jess! I would love to learn how this works for reading books... Can you scribble over a book? How's highlighting? Looks like a pretty cool device positioned between Kindle and an iPad.
You can scribble over a book! And highlight manually. The highlights aren’t “smart” the way the Kindle works. I’ll post a longer article about it.
I love my RM2. I use it for my personal journal, dream journal, sketchbook, poetry book, reading, and doing puzzles like sudoku, crosswords and word searches. I also use it for learning cursive and calligraphy writing.
Same! It’s been a delightful addition to my workflow!
Did it end up replace ur physical notebook ?
That’s the cliffhanger... I have an article coming out about this very thing. 🙂
Hey, this is old !
Thanks for putting out this content.
Glad you enjoy it!
Audio was definitely better with this new lav mic!
omg, Hotline- what a throwback <3
Fancy seeing you here. ;)
Noooooooo, Not Ruby on Rails😭.
Use the tools you know... 😆
Hey Jess, this is may be helpful for whiteboard capture ideas: th-cam.com/video/Ekz698A8rZk/w-d-xo.html
Yes! This is exactly what I was thinking about building. Very, very cool.
Have you had the chance to make any projects with RedwoodJS yet?
I haven't. I got sidetracked with rebooting my personal site using GatsbyJS and building a writing workflow. I need to get it fully operational before I can switch to starting a new project on RedwoodJS.
@@jessamartin Okay. Looking forward to it.
@@adamtak3128 Me too! I'm laying the groundwork for it now...
Any plans on making the fullstack RedwoodJS project you mentioned?
Not yet! I think I know what the project is going to be though... </teaser>
@@jessamartin Ohh let me know :)
@@adamtak3128 It will _definitely_ be livestreamed. :-)
You probably know this already but 1:58:52 tailwindcss classes. An amazing tool imo
Yes, I've learned about this since - tailwindcss looks awesome!
Nice th-cam.com/video/WguEw5umrko/w-d-xo.html Visit my channel also
does it work with react native ?
Hmmm... good question. I assume you mean "could a React Native app connect to a RedwoodJS backend?" In theory, the API endpoints exposed by Primsa should also be available for an external integrator, such as a React Native app to connect to.
What’s the pomodoro app you’re using?
It's Tomato 2 by the fantastic Votjo Rinik: apps.apple.com/us/app/tomato-2-pomodoro-timer/id1494210770?mt=12
Awesome walkthrough! I built the Redwood website and I'm glad it was so helpful to you! Sorry about that outage, you caught it at the perfect time when we had a build issue. 😅Tom and I are both Rails devs since 2006 and it informed a lot our design decisions in Redwood, as you found. I can be on in the chat next Thursday and answer questions if you think it'd be helpful. What time do you usually start?
That's awesome, Rob! I'm tooootally digging the Rails flavor. 😍 I'll be starting tomorrow morning at 8am PT. I'd love to have you join. Here's the stream link: th-cam.com/video/58x-tn5PjxY/w-d-xo.html
You're playing in the background as I make my morning coffee. Totally gets me in the mood for work. :)

Hey Jess, love the video. Thanks for doing this. feedback - Decrease the background music a tiny bit.
This episode is EP7 not EP6
Ah, thanks! Fixed. 😍
Thanks for doing this, learning a lot of tricks! The video and audio are out of sync in this video.
I'm so glad it's helpful! re: video and audio sync, I know their jacked up. Software malfunction. I'm gonna have to do some heavy-duty editing to sync them up. Was it really distracting when watching the video?
Thanks for doing this, really liked it! Have you thought of live streaming it so people can interact with you with questions, help with typing errors... as Justin Jackson (th-cam.com/users/techomic) does?
Yes! I've definitely thought about doing something like that. Episode 8 was a livestream, and I'll probably start doing them weekly.
🙋🏽♂️🎶🔥
I can't tell if that's you jammin' out to the music or saying "yes please, give me my latest releases on a timeline!" 😉
