Cool video man. Love the Peak roads, esp the Snake, Cat & Fiddle and Holme Moss. I think I prefer travelling towards Glossop cos you have the slow incline followed by the steep drop towards Manc, as you described! There's a section halfway up where you see Kinder towering up on your left, that is the highest point of the entire Peak District.
Would love to see more from you mate been ages since you have uploaded.
If youre gunna breakdown in the wooded section at the ladybower western end prepare for a good walk to get a phone signal. Walk towards Sheffield to an open spot.
Im just worried about the fricking armrest...
SD card slot will be for updating maps on sat nav possibly
The turbo is silenced but you can get a turbo muffler delete kit (just an alloy fitting) that brings out some noise
Hello, I know I’m like 2 years late but looking to get this for my second car at 18 I want a fast car and this pretty kuch the only fast ish car I can get insured on so would you 100% recommend it for speed?
Had the 2010 version of this. Just died on me. Had it from new. Never let me down until last week. Forgot to check the oil and no lights came on, so it ran dry. Dead as a nit. Gutted. My car looked exaclty like this one. Feel like ive lost a mate. Passed pretty much every MOT apart from usual wear and tear stuff.
Good review, i own a prefacelift extreme spec model which is older and a lower spec than yours but has the same engine, these cars are very good value for money i think mine cost £9000 new but i picked it up for just £650 3 years ago, ive made 2 videos about it on my channel feel free to check them out, thanks!
would have bought this beauty if it was not for ULEZ being extended
Excellent review sir.
I have this car - the same exact model and colour, a white i-Music. I'm also finding the gears a little sticky, mostly when going into 2nd gear, it doesn't always want to go in, often requiring several attempts! But other than that, a superb little car and a great car for a learner to begin with (my teenage son will be learning to drive soon).
Turn the golf mk 4 black
The best wheels to go on that car are the mk 4 R32 alloys they look buy far the best 👌
Loved my mk 4 gti lovely car with just enough poke in it to make me happy
does the i music come with upgraded sound system?
Like a modern Mr. Bean car…. 😇🤣
Prices are on the up. I’ve just paid £3300 for a clean one.
Question: How tall are you? It is just so I can maybe have an idea of how I would fit in the car.
well I should of watch the whole video before writing that
still have my mk4 golf gti turbo in red (AUM) it's been very reliable and such a great comfortable to drive, i won't be selling it as the prices are slowly creepin up
Got the clio for a first car and I like it! Nice Vid m8
Does this car have Bluetooth connectivity for music?
low thirties ave mpg is pretty bad for a 2015 1.6. Maybe the Civic 1.8 then....
paid 500 for a 1.8t with 80k miles on it, was a PX at my work (dealership) has a decent amount of rust on the body but the underneath is about to be expected
My dad had the same one with 180k on the clock, a bit rough around the edges but it goes like a 🚀 not sure what the bhp is but it has a k an n filter and a dump valve. Certainly feels more than a old 150bhp engine that might only be down to 130. He loves it plenty of performance for a 68 year old pensioner ha
No speedometer calibration needed by a garage that's a myth by garages to rip you off! Just need correct tyre wall size (smaller) which combined with 17" wheels gives same rotation figures as before
Hi mate, I've just bought the 5 door version, I was wondering if you could teach me how to play music on it through Bluetooth? I've successfully paired the car and phone but I can't play any music on it. I can't find the Bluetooth setting in the source menu. Thanks!n
The front discs 'were' and 'are' vented including the ones installed on yours
37mpg is the highest i have seen on mine. 25 is what i normally get with mixed driving. Get oversized turbo silicon pipe and ramair intake, gonna feel that turbski much more. + sound
Really? I get 40-45 motorway, 35 town.
@@pequod1 stage 2 so 😬
Not sure if you said in the video do you know how much tax yearly is ? Xx
In Germany for the Clio 1,2 Tce it's 58€ per year
Thank you!! Going to look at one soon for my first car and from this review I'm super happy 😄
Are you sure your not looking at the real time mpg rather than the average mpg?
I got mine £450 aum engine absolutely love it
Bought mine 10 years ago and never getting rid 🥰 It's top spec, in pretty good nick and now worth more than what I paid for it 👍
Fast becoming a classic as all new cars looking the same these days. Love my mk4 👍
Hi im from Trinidad and Tobago. We have very few golf gti's in my country. I can relate. You'll get it done. Don't worry about it.
Got mine for £800 (private sale) with 10 months MOT, 115k miles. Satin Silver 5 door with Recaros and Bilstein/H&R suspension. Although it is an early AGU engine car, these seem to go for less money than the later ones with the bigger turbo. If you're getting bad MPG, scan for fault codes. Mine came up with a faulty coolant temp sensor, changed it and now getting 39mpg on a rural commute.
I got mine a year ago, 2001 Black GTI, 80,000 miles, 12 months MOT, serviced with new discs/pads - £750... But the body is a bit tatty. I get 22mpg around town, 44mpg on the motorway!
I have one of these and love it. So much fun, please do more videos with this car!!!
02:40 Why take it to a cheap car wash if you got it cleaned professionally to begin with. Do it yourself you will look after it better that way. Also the front headlight is really easy too, like most things with the Mk4. Defo using forums helps. MPG is subjective and depends on your driving, but if you must know my 1.8 6speed goes to about 45 MPG doing about 60 mph on a motorway.
Well sometimes I'm quite lazy, don't have the time and it looks real dirty. You're right though and I do hand wash it most of the time only taken it to a machine wash twice! That's pretty good wish mine had a 6th gear... I did manage to get up to 38/39mpg doing 70-75mph on the motorway yesterday. Think getting used to a car definitely helps and having more gears!
@@motorthoughts 40mpg sounds good for that speed. Remember there are 2 modes for checking mpg. The live mode and the average mode. They can be cleared and reset by holding down the button underneath for a few seconds. There is also 2 views 1 is the overall for vehicle and 2 is the overall for the current journey. I’m sure you know it anyway. Feel free to chat to me about your golf. I don’t mind giving you my number for WhatsApp :)
@@seanlyons161 well if you were up for it could even make a video on your golf and compare the two? Send me an email jamesdrujonsmith@gmail.com and we can exchange numbers that way?

Great video again! VVT only alters valve opening and closing times (hence Variable Valve Timing) where as VTEC(Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control) alters both valve duration and lift (how far the valve opens), with the lift part being the one that contributes to the sound of VTEC.
Cheers mate, ooo cool good stuff!
got my 5 door one in march 86000 miles ,2003. 7 months mot .leather heated seats. few small bangs on the outside got it on facebook for £900 very pleased with it. will be watching to see what i can do to mine. keep the good videos up.
I have a mint mk4 gti. with less then 80k miles, full vw sh and only 2 previous owners. Its slightly tuned and its on my channel if you want to have a look.
I am looking to get these but I heart the engines are not good in them it’s this true ?
not true at all the 1.8tsi is a solid engine, the previous gen with the 1.4tsi and dsg was a different story, known for many problems with engine and gearbox
Yep, what K MC said above. The 1.8 is a very good engine. If you're worried about something going wrong, then don't get the 1.4. It's still a good engine but it has had many problems with them in the past.
anything before 2011 or 2012 is risky the 2013+ were revised models my mate has a 13 plate one rn on 140k miles
how many ps?
192
That's very cheap.... I don't know about the UK used cars market, but this car, with a low mileage, will be much more expensive on the continent.
Great video - definitely a star of the future! 👩🏻🚀
