Whoever this guy is would probably hate the visuals in both the season 1 and 2 openings for Ancient Magus Bride cause they "spoil" certain moments in the seasons. But they are the standard skill level. Having to go against Special Grade Curses like Jogo, Hanami, Mahito, Choso, Sukuna, and even Fake Geto is not a normal occurence. When it comes to characters, it's not about "relating to them" but it's about empathizing, meaning you can understand why and what they are thinking. Characters don't need to be a clone of yourself, just to keep your attention.

JJK was never that great in terms of story. For me the appeal is anime wizards boxing and doing magic. Jujutsu Kaizen = Sorcerer Fight. JJK is action figures being clash against each other with excellent animation... (SECOND SEASON)

Mushoku tensei have better written characters, world building, and even simple story in s2 is far more interesting than the whole adventure in Frieren. People hate Mushoku Tensei and love Frieren just shows that people are delusional that love simplistic, 2 dimensional, and out of touch characters rather than realistic, dark, and flawed. People love stupid things such as the Uwu aspect of Frieren like the “omg fern pout”, “omg frieren kiss”, “wow fern is secretly a pervert”, “fern booba”, “fern mommy”, “uagh ubel armpits”and shit like that instead of serious writing and people hate Mushoku Tensei just for being genuine and shows the reflection of our reality. Conclusion: people love being delusional.

honestly I feel like Mushoku and Frieren are actually very different from each other, Frieren is a very slow paced, smooth, kinda “boring” type of story, where the main focus is never the fights, it’s the conversation, the walk, the connections, that’s why it starts after the defeat of the demon lord, it was never meant to be a story about a powerful mage fighting crazy demons, it’s about an elf trying to find some sort of sense and motivation after having accomplished a massive victory and experiencing feelings of not knowing what to do, where to go, who to go with, so on and so on. Mushoku on the other hand, has way more moments where they focus on power, insane battles, hard moments, tough decisions and real-life turning points, it’s much more fast paced and action packed than Frieren.
