We are aboard the Norwegian Escape on a transatlantic or repositioning cruise from New York City to Rome.
Our ship has arrived in the Port of Civitavecchia, Italy on day 17 of our European vacation. This is the last port where we will be disembarking the ship and taking the train to Rome.
We have enjoyed cruising from New York City to:
Bermuda
Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal
Lisbon, Portugal
Cadiz, Spain
Malaga, Spain
Ibiza, Spain
Barcelona, Spain
Cannes, France
Florence, Italy
Finally arriving in Rome, Italy
This video includes all 16 days of our European vacation, plus our one day in Rome.
The cruise provided an enjoyable mode of transportation as well as a floating hotel to see all these destinations in 16 days with comfort. We didn't need to plan anything besides the shore excursions at each port.
I hope I get the opportunity to go back to some of these cities and enjoy our time at a leisurely pace.

This is my first cruise without her and it was an emotional journey.
We started cruising for her bucket list. Our goal was to take as many bucket list photos as possible and to travel as much as she was able to.
All of our best memories were when we were cruising together. The Transatlantic Cruise was on our list, but time had other plans.
Now, I'm continuing on with the bucket list for her.
