@@TheflyingtriangleI did but wasn’t going to say anything. That far out from Kernan and on transponder so Aldergrove could see it, if he wasn’t happy he’d have asked for confirmation. All good 😀😀

@CraigC42 I was busy worrying about the correct phraseology and messed up the height. I wouldn't have taken offence if you had said, in fact, I would welcome it. All good, as we say, another great learning experience.

He landed just beyond the numbers. That’s what you want. At Ards, in a C42 if you wanted you could easily fly halfway down the runway before touchdown. Good job Jaime 👍

😄 Paul had asked a few times, which made me think that he wouldn't be a nervous passenger. My family just about get into a car with me, it might take a while to win them over! Although I have a brother with an nppl also (thought that would be cheating).

That was my 11th hour solo. I've had 50 with my instructor though. It's been a 2-year process due to weather and family commitments.

High wing planes typically have less dihedral than an otherwise comparable low wing design, because of keel effect: they have more righting moment for a given dihedral angle because the fuselage hanging below the wing increases pressure near the wing root on the low side when a bank induces slip. (After a quick search). Apparently, it's there but very slight.

Was starting to think I had it beat because I've 2.5 hours solo, this lesson reminded me I'm very much still in the training phase. Looking forward to calmer conditions and some confidence building.

Think we all get to a point in our training where we spend a day trying our best to forget how to land for some reason. As you said yesterday, it's not a case of "get over it, tomorrow will be better", watch this video and learn from it. Lick the wounds and go out next time and practice some more.

I did wonder that when I was watching the video. I’ve had a few edit bloopers too 😀 Good job in tricky conditions and one step closer 👏👍

It was such a joy to fly in those conditions. Landings are getting there, approach speed needs refined and I need to aim for the bridge, I've been landing too far up the hill. Few silly things need ironed out but I finally think I'm getting the hang of it!

you not flying an X'Air that can land at the crossroad and still turn off at bravo 😆 You are at the point where you can get frustrated with the landings. Hang in there, it's close! Doing well.
