Area i grew up in. Saw films at the evington cinema. Went to evington valley school. Now its a suburb of calcutta.

First area to fall.

It was once a very rich area of the city to live (1890-1960) My Grandma & Grandpa moved there with my mum and all the other kids from Grimsby in 1939. They lived on Upper Kent Street, their house is now a childrens play area. Absolute, unsafe sh*thole full of foreigners and prostitiutes these days. Im ex Coldstream Guards, ex Doorman and 18 year's prison service and even I wouldn't walk through there after 8.00pm.

Highfields is our home it's a good place to live people are friendly and kind welcoming to everyone who needs a home and people who care about community cohesion. Please stop putting it down. Come and see real people who's share community spirit. What is your are like can you say like me Hello to your neighbour and be there to help each other.

the nightlife is very vibrant as well as curb crawling and the ladies of the night to greet you and that wasn't a banana skin you are likely to slip on oh no it will be a disregarded Durex only joking i hear they cleaned it up since last week 😂

Highfield is a fun place... 80s blues clubs the music scene the carnivals placesto drink eat ... every one who was in the music scene would at one point live in Highfield or hanged out

These houses were once of the working class, lovely Victorian architecture. Now it's a ghetto, drugs, crime, disused cars. I used to park up here - my car was keyed within 3 months.

I lived in Leicester during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, a very safe and lovely place then. Sadly it’s changed into a shithole like other parts of the country.

Leicester is a shithole now, I’ve moved away, it’s not a safe place to live and it’s only getting worse as you can see
