Hello Wendy, I do not know who Mr. Christie is and I'm unfamiliar with his version of a recipe for saltine crackers. This recipe is my favorite for simple crackers and I'm so honored that many people agree that it's a great one :) It is the fat in the recipe that creates the layers, pockets and the little bit of rise within these crackers. A small measure of baking soda may add more "air" into this recipe, but it is not a necessary ingredient and it's personal preference use it. I personally never use baking soda or baking powder to make saltine crackers, so of course it's not in my recipe. I hope you enjoy the crackers if you try them. Thank you for watching and take care!

Hi, did you buy the same machine that I'm using? 😊 It's been a great tool for me and my family. I'm not sure about the amounts in the book, I haven't looked at it in a bit, I'll have to find it lol It may be for a larger loaf than I make typically. I've never made the larger loaf because I don't want to wait 5 hours for it to be done. The bread machine recipe for honey wheat I shared in this video was based on a recipe I found in another source.
