Those grey winter days are so short! My favorite part is the tulips growing in May.

Yes! We don't get much snow so it's kind of exciting when it happens. Quite a bit of snow & wind in the mountains, they even closed the highways for a few hours.

They were Christmas decorations strung around the house. We usually take them down after New Years Day but left them this year and turned them on to celebrate our new President taking office.

Good times, so many people put up Christmas lights this year.

They weren't so pleased with Sunday's rain. Guess even feral cats like their sunshine.

Friday the 13th turned out lucky for us - it was dark, cool & rainy. Absolutely wonderful after our long, hot, dry summer.

It's a beautiful night, clear and bright.

They're cute and entertaining but very wild. Seem to have decided that they own the deck.

We were and are very lucky. Did spend the night watching the fire, if the wind had shifted the only way out was up Wagner or Anderson creeks to Mt. Ashland or the Applegate. Hope you made it through OK.

Sadly, big forest fires have become normal in our dry summers. This smoke is from a California fire about 100 km south of us. There are really big new California fires further south. So far we've been lucky and the local fires have been small and few.

Yes, it was nice, cooled it off from the 108 F we had on Saturday. We seldom get rain in the summer but thunderstorm clouds do build over the mountains.
