If I could ask him a question, I would ask: "What makes a therapist decide whether he/she wants to be a therapist to this person?"

HI Dr Siegel, I have a two sided question if you don't mind. How do you know if a patient needs EMDR and how do you establish which therapy would work better for the patient? Are you going by the educated huntch or are you looking at the results/reaction? Thank you!

Very thorough and informative video. I have been heavily researching this topic and have gained very little insight until I stumbled across this. I am interested to explore and address, Race and culture through the lens of the Humanistic Integrative Approach in Psychotherapy and this has been the light at the end of my tunnel of search. Thank you very much for uploading. I am very much appreciative.

a totally agree, one of the greatest transformers of minds. First and only psychologist I met, who knew what he was doing, he and his fellows firsts going through shitstorms for their unconventional approach and who shaped my life and sort of saved my life; I just remember, when I said something like that to Al Mahrer, he answered: "You don´t go to the pope and tell him: I don´t believe in the pope." (or did he say: in God? I don´t remember. But I had not gone to the pope, I had little expectations, if not to say: none, when I met him many years ago in Germany with my Zensangha and my Zenmaster, P. Arul M. Arokiasamy (AMA Samy) near Bonn.

As a dharma practitioner for over 20 years, I have to applaud this clear kind elucidation of these teachings. Just a wee note that within my tradition the gap is emphasized when the feeling arises before the craving, the craving being far harder to break the chain because the craving is already moving into action and has more intensity. Beautifully done, Drake! I don't believe I've ever heard the story of the oil can done with more eloquence and depth than you elucidated. This clip will form an enduring strand in our storied history of Division 32, and I send my warmest congratulations to you for your superb stewardship of our Division, as well as to Jon who, as Drake notes, arrives at a critical juncture in our relationship to our profession and world. -Kirk

Descriptive Psychology (Ossorio, P.G., ) uses a formal and systematic approach to delineating all facts and possible fact (e.g., states-of-affairs) about the persons, world. This body of work is a pre-empirical approach at organizing the facts about personal, behavior, world. Perhaps it is worth a look. My PhD dissertation looks at the historical roots of this approach including the ideas of post-Tractatus Wittgenstein (i.e., On Certainty). I enjoyed your talk, Dr Bob Brill, Boulder, CO

A wonderful educator. I enjoyed her courses as well as at least one informal but deep conversations at SSU; this is a very deserved award and anyone awarded with it must fill large shoes. The unique thing about Eleanor Criswell is that she worked within the system to provide viability for "the heart" as a legitimate resource for one's wisdom. While other professors seemed unclear at times about their "mission", she was steadfast, provided an often silent but strong role model, and supported the integration of Humanistic Psychology within traditional pathways. As she mentioned in another video, Humanistic Psychology lost the battle but won the war: I can attest to such a conclusion as someone who later pursued an MBA degree: if nothing else, it is clear from a cumulative historical POV that Humanistic influences are clearly the source of almost every managerial psychology improvement that has been rolled out: from work/life balance to the ADA law to the Family Leave Act. All of these improvements that the American worker benefits from have their roots in the self-actualization POV that the Humanistic Psychologists fought for. No doubt. True that. Let's give them their due. And so we should thank them: so thank you, Dr. Criswell, and God bless in whatever version of spiritual intelligence works for you.

Why is it that every other video on this channel begins with the speakers name, yet this one and the other three with Dr. Granger place his name last in the title? Can this be corrected to give Dr. Granger the respect and name recognition that he deserves?
