i think you don't connect to gateway at first, you should add the lock on APP directly by Bluetooth, then test if working all right, if works, then you can bind it to the Wifi Gateway

I got the same error either doing the direct pairing before bind to the gateway. I also have a Tuya T1 cabinet lock.

@@peterslopes if so, the Wifi gateway is not correctly matched with the device of the lock, you need to feedback to supplier of gateway to update the firmware, then you OTA update on Tuya APP
