It's not like they can balance the game around dodging when some classes can't even dodge. Dragon's Dogma vocations have distinct playstyles, while Elden Ring builds are homogenized around dodging. If you want to compare the two, it should be something like this... DD2: a variety of hit reactions and enemy states (stagger, knockdown, freeze, lightning stun, ice slowdown), exploration involves actual gameplay (limited travel points, fixed oxcart routes, everything has a cost from ferrystones costing money to oxcarts often leading to ambushes) Elden Ring: no hit reactions besides the occasional hitsun, braindead exploration that is barely part of the game cause the map is full of travel points all over the place and fast travel is only a matter of opening the menu with no costs attached

Yes, I don't use mods, I just cast using Spellhold. If you destroy the stake on it's hand quick enough it drops the spear I think.

i doubt it, whole gameplay was spamming three abilites and mostly standing still. nothing innovative sadly. the spells were very original in the first dragons dogma game but now it's just a more pretty version. i like the game but i wish it had more. elden ring or baldurs gate 3 were insane milestones, dd2 pales in comparison

@@xroxaskhx DD2 is basically what dd1 should have been at least graphic wise. A lot of stuff is copy paste from the first game and a lot of stuff is worse than in the first game (classes, amount of abilites) and some of the best abilities for sorcerer are not in the game: Miasma, some buffs, the big ice spell etc. I just hope they will fix a lot of stuff with the dlc, especially way more different monster types but i doubt it because the release of mh wilds is near....

She's a Mage, it's primarily a support class. I'm not fond of an AI killing enemies for me, so I just gave her support skills and a low level weapon.

Meteoron is useless inside caverns or anywhere with a roof, also drakes take almost no damage from it. Big enemies like to run outside of Maelstrom's AoE. Both have huge cast times. The skills are well balanced

Combat is fine for what it is. They could improve it with directional inputs, since each weapon currently has 2 skills when it could be 4 (2 with neutral inputs, 2 with forward inputs). They could also replace this annoying lock-on system with a priority system (the same one Ninja Gaiden uses)

@@SealedReality Wow I honestly never thought of that. They could have manual lock on and priority lock. I tried the demo and beat it with little trouble. It runs absolutely horribly on ps4 holy shit. And I am not at all a frame snob.

In this clip I was using Scarborough Fair as a weapon and Gaze of Despair (for some extra combo points, since I was farming halos) and the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa as acessories. I just go with whatever I feel like.

I was playing on Normal difficulty in that clip. Witch Time is disabled on Infinite Climax mode

@@lali4794 Nope. On Infinite Climax, only Bracelet of Time and Selene's Light can activate Witch Time. The only exceptions being the "Kill enemies during Witch Time" Alfheims

I have that, but it just reduced most of the damage. Because I still took a little bit of damage, I thought it wasn't worth the physics flask slot on a No Damage run

@@Sandman_mr I believe you can avoid Nihil by doing enough damage to skip phase 2. I could've done it with Comet Azur, but that spell is so powerful I feel bad for using it lol

I've been feeling that every boss in this game is a new version of Pontiff Sulyvahn, in the sense that he mixes fast and nearly instant attacks with slow and delayed ones to trick the player into dodging at the wrong times. Annoying, but I thought he was kinda easy. I'll return to the game after I solve some issues (my graphics card died).

@@SealedReality exactly he's not particularly difficult, but has a bunch of chap ass gimmicks

I never played the original cause I've never had a Xbox, but Ninja Gaiden's mechanics and overall design are very well documented. It's a general consensus that the original is better in a lot of ways. Sigma 2 is still a good game tho

Some examples: th-cam.com/video/VDAiYc_sy8A/w-d-xo.html stinger.actieforum.com/t60p200-ninja-gaiden-2-general-discussion It's mostly balancing issues. Less number of enemies to improve framerate going from XBOX360 to PS3 made the lower difficulties boring to play. Some encounters having impossible to get S ranks because the time limit counters were poorly balanced. Stuff like that. Plus, it got worse with the Master Collection because of input drop issues unique to this collection.

I think that's a fair trade off for what Living Dead is, better than punishing the healer anyway. Still wish they'd just replace LD with Eventide from PvP tho

You still take damage during Walking Dead, you just can't go below 1 HP. It's not a TRUE invul like GNB's. That said, the description on Living Dead is misleading. You don't have to get fully healed, you have to get healed by 100% of your total HP. If you have 50K HP, you have to get healed 50K, so let's say you heal 25K, take 15K of damage, then heal another 25K. You current HP is 35K, but you DID heal for a total of 50K, so you're safe.
