It would be great if you could hover over the competitors stats at the end of the game a bit longer. Its good to learn what rating your opponents are at and it they are heavyweights or not. Thanks for the videos, my game improved a lot.

10:53 Instead of hoping for no 7's, offer two cards for that brick. Shucks, Offer 3. It's worth it in the long run to get that early city. In fact, i've watched many of your games and commented before. You win when you save your pennies for the city before you buy devs. When you start buying devs right away and never save for the city, you tend to lose. Check your recent losing streak. Your resource income sputters out as all opponents out produce you. And by the end game, you spend whatever resources you have just to get that one additional dev card - hoping for a monopoly.

You may have miscalculated on capping out the road, but you really didn't have the opportunity to extend. Would have needed at least one generous trade to get that extra road I think

I'm only like the 5810 if you can get good brick (4pips+) on the way back to pair with it. For me, the 643 is the most flexible, even if it is boring.

I mean yellow was correct on what he said about him being the one to really stop you. That 8 ore being blocked did set u back a bit but completely halted his game as an OWS player. He could have chosen better words tho :D but gg, could have finished with 13 pts there if you could build those last 2 cities. :)

If you settle on the bottom end of the 8-10 then you're not taking the 3-11 expansion away from the top settlement. Can just go right (assuming you point up to start) towards 9-10 if the 8-4 gets taken like it did

34:48 You should have connected your roads on the other side of the 10brick instead. Then your road would have been perfectly safe, with all nodes facing the enemies protected by settlements/city.

29:24 You should have traded 2 wool → grain so that you could use your 3 ore and Engineer.

24:50 You should not have upgraded. It made you vulnerable to Deserter. And red gets a lot of Politics cards. You should have built a new knight and activated it to protect more of your production.

22:07 You should probably have placed that road between 5ore and 8grain to avoid taking longest road and gaining 2 points too early. It also takes you closer to the wool port. You should probably have placed the road of your first settlement there to protect both grain and ore instead of grain and brick. It would have made it easier to build a city.

But the online game is such a different experience, especially playing AI. I either steamroll them 10-3, or every roll is EXACTLY what would hurt me the most. There’s no in-between. I’m not convinced.

Awesome game with dito commentary between four very high level players. You played well with sensible choices. Great trading by the way, you were quick and on point with your (counter) offers. You didn't win due to sevening out quite a few times and having the 10 Wood blocked. I prefer these games much more than the Catan Labs series...

Losing the city slowed you down too much. 3:15 You should probably have built the city somewhere at the 11ore to get an ore from placement and some production of ore and coin. Starting without lumber production would not have been too terrible since the board has 16 dots of lumber production.

If you didn't take road when you did blue or purple had potential to sneak it and win... tough break those double 8 rolls for blue at the end.

1:09 I would have settled 4brick-8lumber-10lumber road NE (towards brickport and ?-port. Then the city at 2ore-6wool-9grain road NE. Placement resources would guarantee an active knight to save the city and guard your only grain hex and your source of wool and cloth. Production of lumber and brick would have enabled you to build 2 roads to the lumber port and settle it soon to take advantage of the high lumber production. Having the city at the best wool hex would have given you some nice yellow cards. Sharing a victory against the barbarians could give you some nice green card even before you upgrade your settlement to a city and start earning a lot of paper. Another interesting placement would have been to settle the 2ore-6wool-lumberport and city 5lumber-6lumber-9grain. You would have a grain immediately and 2 lumber to trade for an ore. Then you would just need a 6 roll for the sheep to save your city. Or another couple of lumber. You would have high paper production from the start but unfortunately no brick.

5:05 Instead of building a lot of roads, you should have built a city wall to be able to hold enough cards to trade 4 lumber → ore and save your city.
