Welcome to StayPuft Metal! Here's who I am and what we're about
This comment will be long-winded but as a massive fan of Terminal Sleep, Linkin Park and cats I thoroughly enjoyed this! Its funny that this was recorded in Sept because I, like you both was just hearing rumblings of the LP reunion and I got to see them in London at the end of September. They were absolutely amazing and getting to hear so many of these songs live was so fucking special to me. If you had told me that would be happening at the start of Sept I wouldn't have believed you! I'll also be seeing Terminal Sleep for the very first time in Dublin this month and I am stoked. Also wanted to mention, I became a Terminal Sleep fan from the most unlikely of sources. Myself and my fiancee are huge Demi Lovato fans and I was watching her list off her favourite metal and hardcore bands on Jose Mangin's Sirius XM show. I had never come across them, and sought them out. So yeah, I became a huge fan because of Demi. Not even sure if the band are aware that that mention ever occurred, but be sure to tell Bec if not! Great job on the interview, I'll definitely be checking out more of your content!
Thanks for the amazing words! 🖤🖤 Love to hear that about Demi Lovato's rec!! TS knows about it for sure
This band rules you should interview volatile ways !
I'd love to!
Get them on there deserve more love than they get that’s also their homie band
Ok, this guy gets it. Been obsessed with Green Lung since Woodland Rites. They finally came stateside last year and it was glorious! Caught them at the Cambridge show. The effort into their music and performance was just incredible, and the audience just ate it up.
Yes! Welcome friend! I'll be in London for their tour with Unto Others. Cannot overstate how excited I am.
Also. The callous daoboys have a violinist are doing some amazing stuff in metal.
Yoooo. Have no idea how I came across this ha chronoclast is my favorite heavy record of all time. I love this.
Amazing!! Thanks for stopping by and glad you enjoyed it! Crazy that I'd never heard this album before, but it's so good!
Great episode Jon. Tori is a delight and Dirt is indeed an all time classic. Stay Puft ya'll
You are the BEST. Thank you so much for having me. <3
thank YOU! 🖤
Witnessed the majesty of that Rwake set in Little Rock. Andrea absolutely destroyed one of my favorite songs in the best way
Love it!
Lovely watch/listen for a welding project 🖤🔥🏴
🤘🤘
I love that you don't even start listening to the album until 35 minutes into the video.
What can I say, I'm a yapper!
This is very much a case of me watching the interview for the interviewee and not the album. Prog rock is not my thing, and I and probably never will be, but hearing the chat with Sammy is great.
Thanks for checking it out anyway, dude! Sammy enjoys prog enough for the both of you :)
Their statement on the War was beyond brave, considering. So, much respect for that. Just as much respect for them as artists, this is a quality band with well thought out and carefully planned compositions. A stellar choice for an album hang video.
Cheers, friend! Great band and this album gets better with every spin. Looking forward to more whenever it happens.
I am so proud of my daughter
As you should be, Mr. G!
@@spinningthewax She did say how good the interview was to do
Well I'm glad Adrienne didn't become a paleontologist, haha. What a cool person she is.
Where can I find the unedited version, to listen along to the album? Patreon?
That's correct!
Nice Tesseract sweater!
Her voice is amazing, savage interview
Perfect, that was the best Interview with Adrienne so far, thankyou 🤟🤟🤟
Aw, shucks! Thanks for watching and the kind words! She's the best!
Amazing stuff….what a band. Yeah that Download gig was quite the welcome! Seen Heriot a few times since, looking forward to what awaits.
I love Adrienne's laugh.
Wow! I absolutely loved this interview. I like this concept and thought the questions were deep and engaging. Didn't feel like a publicity presser for an album or tour. It actually felt genuine and like a conversation between two friends. Adrienne, and her art, is a gift to the world and it was cool to get her honest perspective (and hear her fangirl over Kamelot). Well done on the interview and hope to see more in the future! On a side note to the Iced Earth section, and I want to be clear I am not condoning what he did, but how are people surprised? It's like people didn't listen to the lyrics and messaging in their lyrics (especially Something Wicked, Dystopia and Plagues of Babylon). I know both Adrienne and yourself mention the layers of music, and you don't need to know the lore of Seven Spires songs or of Epica to enjoy it, but you do get at least a basic understanding of what it's about. I'm sure 8 out of 10 people who listened to Iced Earth could pick up on it. It would be like listening to Seven Spires and then being absolutely shocked she is an emotional person. Just my two cents that no one asked for, but I always feel it's a discussion to be had.
Thanks for the awesome feedback! Plenty more episodes to come so stay tuned! I can only speak for myself on Iced Earth, but I thought he was just a run of the mill jerk. Hadn't realized how many red pills he'd swallowed over the years, likely because I never paid attention besides when albums came out. I will say, I revisited the Gettysburg trilogy a few months before all that, and I'd forgotten how much of those songs are from the POV of the Confederacy. Definitely made me stop and think.
Great interview! You sound like two old friends catching up.
I recently found the Seven Spires Lore tab on their website. I could tell there was a story when I had been listening to the albums, but when I read the lore I definitely connected different events in the story with certain songs. Love this new series man, can't wait to see more!
Same! I knew the albums were concepts, but had no idea that tab existed until she said. Thanks for listening! 🤘
I can't even explain how amazing this video is! The concept is so amazing so we can nerd out along with you and Adrienne. I was waiting for someone to finally do something like this🤓dude two of you are so eloquent and the energy is pff! Btw, your shirt is just pure class🥇
Wow, thanks so much for the kind words! Been hard at work on this all summer so I'm stoked you had as much fun watching as I had making! 🤘
What a delightful person Debbie is! Great interview, Jon. Must admit, I don’t really know this band very well, but you two did a great job in selling it to me! Can’t wait for Heriot’s debut as well 🤘🏻😎🔥
I know! She just makes you want to smile. Cheers dude! Find a dark room on a stormy night and lock yourself away with Rheia and the set of your best headphones.
Saw them the first time at the Rock For People Festival and was absolutely blown away, going to see them again at Rock am Ring, very exited for it
End of the 18th century and the guy who wrote is called Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
This is one of the greatest songs i discovered in 2023
OMG! Every time I listen to White Ward I am proud of my nation! Thanks for sharing your experience of listening to this very prominent band!
You're welcome! Incredible band.
Best track of 2022.
I love your energy 🤘 you are doing a great job.
Thank you so much!
one of my favorite songs from CoB
Brutal song 🔥
At first I wanted to downvote but ultimately I chose constructive criticism and bonus engagement by leaving this comment: I find this video cringey.
why do you say that? honestly curious
I guess I didn't like the dance knowing all too well what this song is about. Sorry for being harsh
Alison Hell by Annihilator
great shout
Man, this was such a giant hit in Finland when it came out! What a time it was to be 15 and live here and get to go check out all these cool new bands: Nightwish released Oceanborn the previous year and Sonata Arctica blew us away with Ecliptica '99. And the cherry on top was Hatebreeder. I still get chills when I even think about the opening phrase of the album: "from now on we are enemies, you and I..." 🤘
that must've been something! yeah i'd never heard anything like it before until a friend let me borrow Hatebreeder. COB were opening for a band we were seeing and he said they were an immediate listen
Took a few years to get right because I wanted to learn this as soon as I started playing, but I highly recommend it for people just learning, though that solo is surprisingly confusing toward the end of the guitar portion. It's an old favorite of mine. Rip Alexi. I think blood drunk was surprisingly less well received. But I didn't see anything wrong with their slight change in approach.
I liked Blooddrunk (and Halo of Blood for that matter) and don't think the albums are bad, they just didn't have as much staying power as a whole, imo. i tend to listen to specific tracks from latter-day COB rather than full albums, but part of that might just be nostalgia. thanks for watching! glad you nailed that solo! \m/
I love this band! <3
Top notch review, man. ImI
thank you! thanks for tuning in!
Alexi absolutely Genius! RIP The Legend! Forever in our hearts!
Saw these supporting clutch in Birmingham a couple of months ago they were fucking awesome
YES! What a bill. Been hearing GL are one of the best new live bands on the circuit rn
Loved them great band the politics of extacy is on of my favorite albums from them but I love all their stuff even the sanctuary stuff that I was listening to before this great band also
Thanks for checking out the video, everyone! What's YOUR favorite COB song? What song should we chat about next?
Just found the channel, great job bringing more light to C.O.B. “Bed of Razors” is an amazing piece of music from metal heads who love Bach. Alexi was a genius at guitar and composition.
thanks! completely agree. will definitely get to more of them.
Good pick, kinda underrated amongst their iconic songs. Also nice that u threw a small history lesson in. Bed of Razors was written both Alexi and Alexander. I like your energy.
thank you, that's exactly why i picked it! i'd completely forgotten alexander had writing credits on it. one of only a handful iirc
It was my first song i heard from cob. Now its prob worst song from hatebreeder cause its so easy to play on guitar but its not bad, idk why ive heard it so many times.
RIP Wildchild \m/
Nevermore rules!
Yes the do, and so do you! 🤘
good on ya, alexi was an absolute genius
he really was, and if not for him i wouldn't be doing what i do. plan to get to a lot more of his stuff in the future!
the call and response being a conversation with the ghost of the loved one is a real interesting point, i like that
very much an "i've listened to this song 10 billion times" kinda thing
Try another cool Band from Switzerland: Paleface with Dead man's diary or The orphan....
Thanks for the suggestion! A little familiar with them. The Orphan has so much Slipknot influence in it!
this small country has many cool bands around and the big three are Coroner,Hellhammer/Celtic Frost,Eluveitie.. pls checkout Virvum if you like some TechDeath stuff, also the legendary Breakdown of Sanity are fucking nice .greets from switzerland
