I dressed in Different Decades for a Week! Pt. 1
มุมมอง 2106 หลายเดือนก่อน
Last year I vlogged a week of dressing in different decades! While I've definitely learned more about fashion since then I still think its a fun enjoyable video! So sit back and have fun watching me try to do makeup with a paintbrush lol and face the disaster of a 'too wet' wet-set lol. Its fun, chaotic, and a glimpse into my Midwestern life! Huge shout out to my editor sister Brooke who helps ...

    The ribbon is the sweatband: it has nothing to do with shaping the hat. It protects the hat's material from the wearer's sweat, that's why it's easy to remove. It's meant to be replaceable over the life of a hat.

    So pretty! I love this outfit and wish I had pressed flower earrings, I made some pressed flower pictures today with some vintage frames from the thrift store and wildflowers I've been collecting and pressing since spring.

    Do you have suggestions on getting lint out of the hair (or is it even necessary?). My hair is so dark, even the smallest bit of lint shows.

    • @girlofdifferentera2922
      @girlofdifferentera2922 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, I know just what you mean. My hair will get like that too. I find cleaning out your brush daily instead of weekly often helps reduce lint buildup... but you should be fine making a hair rat out of your old hair, even if it does have some lint. Your own hair will cover it in styles, so it shouldn't be noticeable in the finished hairdo! Hope this helps!!!

    My daughter knows that I've been losing my hair. I did get to see her yesterday. She lives in a different state. I showed her all the hair that I lost. She was grossed out by it. However, she just sent me this video. I will definitely be making these hair rats. Thank you so much for having this video. Lots of love and a shout out to my daughter, Tabi for caring.

    Wait, wait, did you just say your apprenticeship will be ending in five months? If you return to New York do you think you will remain there? Wow! Guess it is a good thing your apartment isn’t completely furnished yet! Moving is so stressful, not to mention costly. Anyway, now that I have butted into your future business, hope to see you soon in your next video.

  • @charlenetorres1202
    @charlenetorres1202 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The crate idea works wonderfully! The sewing table is so distinctive, where did you find it? The scarves look great on the “hanger”. Unfortunately, it takes so long to furnish an apartment when first starting out. It would be fun to see how it progresses, say in about another year.

    Your versatility is amazing. Stepping out of one’s comfort zone can be difficult, but certainly educational. One thing though, your 70’s dress was a bit long. Dresses were either mini or maxi. I cannot tell you how many times I was sent home from school over dress code dress length between the 60’s and 70’s. Some people never learn. See ya next time.

    • @girlofdifferentera2922

      Aww, thank you so much!! It definitely is a fun way to learn other fashions! Yes, your right, it is a bit long. I actually filmed this video over a year ago and I've definitely have learned a lot more since then lol!! That is so funny though, that you were often sent home because of short dresses.....I guess it was worth it to be 'in style' though !

    My grandmother said that what the "hair receiver" in those Bakelite dresser sets were for - emptying your brush out and saving it in there. You know, there would be a comb, a brush, and handheld mirror, maybe a nail buffer, a powder box, and this other thing that looked like a big powder box but had a hole in the top. I found one my my great-grandmothers hair rats and she'd used sewing thread of a close-enough color and king of stitched it around to hold it together. It is weird looking tho NGL.

      Yes! I simply love those old vanity sets! I even have one in porcelain! That is so cool that your grandmother did that and that's a good idea of your great-grandma to hold it together with stitching!! Thank you so much for watching the video and sharing some of your memories!!!
