I am trying to setup a similar system to pump tires and airbags and was curious if you're running both systems off the same ARB compressor? If so do you just have a hose splitter somewhere in the lines? I noticed there wasn't a split at the compressor which I was thinking was going to be my solution Great video!
@@plewisdapanda Bags and tires are supplied by the same air comp. There’s just a manifold that takes air front the comp. and splits/ sends it to the front, rear and air bags.
@ you're the man! Thank you for still responding to this older video!
I’m scared to hit my frame now
Better to know now than later. If i had known 3-4 mouths sooner i could have gotten the frame replaced by Toyota.
@ Toyota not doing it anymore. You are SOL with any Tacoma now
Where did you buy the components?
almost everything is from Amazon
Title made me think it was catfish. instead, was a terrible argument with over confidence, complete nonsense. I need to buy the off-road jack just to go against this idiotic video. Also this video shouldn’t be considered as unpopular opinion, it’s just someone looking for excuses to whine. The jack is a simple innovation of an already commonly used shop jack. imo, the Badland Jack wins all around. Bulky and pricey tool, but worth it, you don’t skim on recovery gear. Soon to be moms, don’t forget take your folic acid.
Your title, should have said GEN 2 Toyotas have problems at 200,000 miles..a lot of stuff has been fixed/addressed by manufacturer by the next gen..
I almost bought these for my 2012 tacoma but after watching another video showing how poorly made these are, I went with superior suspension brackets and shackles, a better peace of mind 👍🏽😎
I have a 2012 TRD sport 4x4 double cab in manual with some tasteful mods, I'm regreasing the pulleys this weekend it's been chirping for awhile and it's annoying 😖😖
Dumbass weakling
Fluid film or woolwax your frame!!
Gret vid, bros. Love it.
Thanks man!
Adding a roof rack could help if the front of the rack had a deflector of some sort.
I think a rack would just be another thing in the air flow hurting MPG. I just want the air to flow cleanly over the truck and camper, and not get caught between the two. Thanks for your thoughts!
yeah with something that size you definitely need proper ventilation, not just for yourself but for the batteries too. Also consider getting a CO Monitor for it too at some point.
Good ideal with the CO monitor. Looks like they aren't expensive, ill get one; thanks! The batteries are lithium, to my knowledge they do not off gas.
How in the crap does 70 lb. be bad for fuel economy or wear and tear on anything? Where did he get his facts?
@@John-eb8be It’s basic physics, if you want to accelerate more weight (a jack you most likely don’t need) you need to use more energy (burn more fuel) to do so. The same is true for wear. More weight = more force on components = accelerated wear. For 70 lbs all of this is minimal, or negligible, but the effect of weight are very real.
Thanks for sharing. Is that air line you're using, red, some sort of poly as it doesn't look as stiff as nylon airbrake line but definitely isnt rubber?
@@jwbures it’s polyurethane air tubing.
Those brackets work better if painted red
@@Thedaleb1 oh that’s what I did wrong.
Great video homie.
What a wimpy cuck lol
This video is full of absolute nonsense, recommending a high lift jack in 2024 says it all. Get out to KOH and events and see what’s really going on out there… Off-road jacks work great.
BUY SOME AXLE STANDS!!! Never get under any vehicle being held-up by just a jack - that's as potentially lethal as it is dumb.
This is a businesse’s product. That they employ people to design and manufacture. And you rubbish it in your title and claim a huge design flaw. And admit that’s for clicks and that it doesn’t have a huge design flaw? What a prick. Disgusting.
As a full-time nomad traveler who boondock 90% in the desert only accessible thru unpaved, gavel, and rocky roads, this one would have been very handy all those 6 years on the road. I just bought mine yesterday and i'm sure it will be very handy as I have already destroyed 2 floor jacks(pain in the desert with the tiny wheels mainly for pavements only). This badland off-road will allow me to lift both dually wheels of my Ram 3500 diesel and 31 feet 9,000lbs travel trailer to change tires or make repairs just by jacking up via axle.
I carry a floor jack because I travel for work and live on the road out of our camper. These off road jacks are great for dirt, gravel and other non typical terrain that I end up doing repair work on. They have their usefulness.
I just learned algebra again. Between you and this old tony, i dont feel as stupid vs me at 15.
Definitely a marine
Colder air is more dense - ground breaking discovery! You must think the people watching your videos are morons "molecular level, I know its a big word but stay with me" - yes self proclaimed science genius, us morons will try to keep up.
What is your definition of the word "huge"?
FAITH in the jack and lego-wood stack!
Awesome video! Looking forward to seeing the flatbed finished. I have a flatbed drawn up in Solidworks, but I keep avoiding the work. HAHA
@@TheWolfMobile oh awesome I’d love to see that. It’s a lot of work but worth it.
It's not a trend... It's much more convenient to move through a shop and through the driveway... If I get a flat tire I got something more off road.
What do you use for a flat off-road? They should be called shop jacks or gravel drive-way jacks then IMO. Not off-road floor jacks.
Deamon brackets are for nothing more than hanging dangly bits. That’s what I have em for. Factory bracket for recovery.
You should show yourself being towed with it. Instead of beating otnto death. Most people just want the looks and moderate towing. Does ot work to tow with or not?
@@arjones2330 I’m no expert but I’d said Demon brackets would be fine for a tow, there just can’t be any hard jerking or snatching while doing it. Definitely just for looks.
11:41 that was smooth lmfao. Ordered some 15 minutes before, cancelled right after this vid thanks!
@@rh3371 Lol had to stop myself from saying something bad.
Agreed
I agree with your points. They make sense. I read comments of good use cases, like at home with cracked concrete or gravel etc - basically not a smooth hard surface. The size and the weight are really strong arguments for not taking it off road 4WD, like over landing etc. It could make sense with one in a group to share it. Or just a day trip where for some reason you are going to be jacking but not camping etc.
@@anywhereroam9698 I like the ideal of one vehicle caring it in a group. Floor jacks have their applications for sure.
Thanks for the info. I think people only put them on because of how they look. I don't really care how something looks it needs to work every time. Guaranteed people are pulling them off after your sledge hammer test.
I hope so
Hate to say it but 70 lbs is not breaking a vehicle
The point is 70 lbs gets a vehicle closer to a breaking point.
It’s not a design flaw buddy. Hot air creates higher pressure. Warmer temps aren’t gonna even mess with it. And by the way it wasn’t more interesting than a physics class and you should really think before you make a lame video
I would talk to Toyota USA and see if they will warranty that frame even with you being a few month past the deadline. I think Toyota USA is reasonable and will work with you.
These brackets are for show only. Dangly bits. I have them. Like them, but would only use the factory recovery bracket.
Off road Jack's definitely have their place. They fit under every vehicle that any member of my family owns. Can roll it out in the grass gravel and light mud and not have a problem. If the growd is a little soft and the wheels sink in, the skid plate bottom will take the weight and get the truck up . 70lbs is not the heavy for most guys to pick up and toss in the truck or the dirt. It's not made for when you brake down rock crawling or bogged down to your axels in mud. I keep mine in my truck and if I need to change a tire on the side of the road, in a field gravel parking lot it works way quicker and easier than a factory bottle jack with that little turn know that takes forever to get set up on the wood blocks. If you want to crawl around to set up the little bottle jack by all means, play in the mud day if you want lol.
Nice video but how are you mounting a hard shackle on the front. The ones you show are just for a receiver hitch. Thx
The block that goes into the receiver takes hard or soft shackles and I have a front receiver. Hope that helps, thanks!
Ponderous.
Lol, I realize this video is a year old, but dude, I don't think people are taking these with them out on the trail for emergency use😆. They're for working on the truck in the back yard. The taller height is better for a lifted truck than a standard jack and a block of wood. You do most of your wheeling alone don't you?.
Never mind. I guess people are hauling these things out on the trail. That's pretty funny too.
I have an ARB twin been using that hard for the last nine months. I haven’t run my ear link your bag suspensions my Kelderman suspension in my air seats in my Kodiac C4 500 I added a rough country twin this week as a backup to compare the two units. The rough country is half the cost of the ARB. From the cab, I can monitor both compresses and all the airbags
I drive 6-8K miles a year, so my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, long bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs has a Long way to go before I’ll be needing to replace anything. But I do know that I’ll need an install an “Add a Leaf” to the rear suspension because I tend to haul occasionally and the rear leaf springs are a weak spot.
Another subscriber here. 2014 TRD Sport, just Fluid Film on mine this weekend. My frame was stressed tested at Toyota, I’m good to go.
Nice! Protecting it is the way to go. Make sure to check the inside of the frame. I wish I was in the same boat.
i carry both a floor jack and a bumper/high lift jack. the floor jack gets used more than the other these days and the factory jack hasn't been touched in years. I think I'll take my years of practical knowledge and experience over a kid who don't look like he can grow a mustache talking shit next to the first toyota he ever bought. I guess I bought a real vehicle so I didn't have to worry if "a few extra pounds from the jack" is going to break my vehicle. You might wanna take the jack out to carry around extra front end parts though so I get it.
Send in the fashion police, the hat looks like my aunt had a stroke.
I’m also going to suggest doing some pushups. Kind of a disgrace to the USMC to have man tits. I also don’t take off road advice from a dude who wears flip flops. But hey bro, you do you however that looks. I have no problem putting $400 into a jack and 70lbs of weight in the bed to make my life easier in the middle of nowhere.
2014 FJ, 226,000 miles. Basic maintenance. Haven’t even had to change a light bulb. Never had a check engine light on either. I believe it comes down to how much you respect your ride vs how much your willing to abuse it.
Nice, love me an FJ. For sure! I've been on the abuse end of the usage spectrum for the last few years and mine is getting old.
Disregard 80 percent if your truck has never touched a dirt road.
@@truepatriot8751 yeah only 20% of the truck has touched dirt.
