    I have just started having problems with my clutch. When I am holding clutch few seconds it slowly disengage and I cannot change gear or even worse when I am waiting on red light holding clutch and brake the car engine dies like If I had it put on gear and released the clutch. The clutch works fine when I fully release it so right now when I am slowing down I have to shift into neutral and use clutch only when I am going to use gas pedal. The car has 100 000 KMs and serviced regularly. I hope it won't be slave cylinder, else the repair (not parts, but manhours in car service) will be pretty costly, not counting not having car in coming winter season.

    Hi Great video really helpful. When filling the box back up with oil did you just fill until the oil came out of the spill level? Having a look on auto data as I want to do mine soon, it says to just fill it with 1.8 litres of oil which is less than that spill level which seems stupid to me. Especially when these b6 transmissions are prone for the input bearings failing on the diesel models as they are geared longer so at top speed they sit at a lower rpm meaning there’s not as much splash lubrication on the bearings meaning they heat up and fail. Anyway I’m tempted to just fill it until it spills out but was curious as to how you did it.

    seems like an easy way to set the car on fire, sorry, but no way would allow a cheap Chinese electric heater to run inside my car if I wasn't there with a fire extinguisher next to it. . .

    • @mike_themechanic
      @mike_themechanic 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There are 2 major manufacturers here in Sweden defa and calix the later being the one I have installed. Calix is a Swedish company that has been around making these products since the 1950's. It's very rare for an engine heater or a cabin heater to set a car on fire (it obviously does happen but very rarely). The main cause of fires is people leaving things in front or on the heaters. The electricity comes from boxes outside and usually have a timer built in so they usually only run for 3 hours then switch off the electricity. Thanks for you comment and the opportunity to adress it. 😊

    Hello my friend, I have a question. How did you drill a hole to pass the cables? Because the drill doesn't fit and there is a problem. The door is open and it doesn't lock. Do you have this too?

    • @mike_themechanic
      @mike_themechanic หลายเดือนก่อน

      I shut the door and drilled a 3mm pilot hole through the door and A pilar so they were in the exact right place, then I could open the door and drill with a step drill to the required size. Do you mean it won't lock when the door is opened? If so then you need to close the lock mechanism to be able to test it

    Hey, doing a clutch swap soon, I thought I consult a bit before doing it, because I've never seen such clutch swapping instructions before. So I bought by the looks of it the same type of clutch you have it's the "sachs xtend type I riveted", however because the clutch is "self adjusting" the instructions call not only for a centering tool, but for a special tensioning/centering tool from sachs 4200080561 to preload and stop it from prematurely failing. So my question would be, is there any downside to not using it, and just centering it with a centering tool? I've seen comments ranging from "it's completely fine to not use it" to others saying "it'll break as soon as you start to drive", so your input/advice would be great help. Thanks in advance!

    • @mike_themechanic
      @mike_themechanic หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've never heard of that tool and I didn't use one when changing my clutch. The clutch has worked and is still working perfectly to this day so in my opinion it's fine to do it without that tool.

    • @Lemonal
      @Lemonal หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mike_themechanicSo, situation update in case this helps anyone out in the future. I rented the tool out of my own curiosity 😅, and I do think the clutch tool serves a purpose for an amateur mechanic. It helps you center and tighten the clutch bolts evenly while pushing it onto the flywheel mounting pins for the clutch, basically making any mistakes impossible, especially with setting pins on Sachs clutches. However, it can also be done by just tightening the bolts in order and using a proper centering tool. And @mike_thrmechanic Thanks for responding and keep up the good work!

    Grattis till 250 000 visningar Och ditt nya jobb till att börja med :) Och sedan klokt val att fortsätta med TH-cam kanalen. Jag har haft min sedan 2007 och flera av åren har det bara blivit ca 10 videos per år. Och många år har jag kört en video var annan vecka . För det har en annan fördel med att inte pumpa ut videos för ofta . Du får tid att bygga upp ett lager med videos så att du kan göra nästa video i lugn och ro utan stress. :) Sen ett tips på evenemang / fordon som kan vara intressanta att göra videos om är ju Isracing sm med Bil som brukar gå runt Februari Mars här uppe vet inte var de körs nästa år men Brukar ofta köras på isarna i Morjärv bland annat Där det ju kan vara väldigt speciella byggen som körs med rejäla spikdäck tex Volvo S40s med BMW V8or eller ett år såg jag till och med en Grup B MG Metro . Många av bilarna kör ju Rallycross med Men Lycka till
