If you truly loved Hawaii, you would not travel here during this time for this reason. I am a frontline healthcare provider on Maui and our resources are SO LIMITED - we don’t even have enough for residents if we have another surge here - the last thing we need to worry about during this pandemic is an influx of tourists and all the extra they require from our over burdened system - infrastructure, healthcare, basic needs, etc. when more tourists arrive, it places our vulnerable populations at an even greater risk. Please, please instead of telling your viewers how to vacation in Hawaii right now - tell them to respect the people for whom Hawaii is our home, not a place of entertainment. We need to feel safe and that our Kupuna are safe. Fun vacations can happen later. Our children are distance learning also and when you travel here, instead of all those people you see working in your hotel and the now crowded grocery stores, and restaurants and rental car agencies being home to ensure their kids are adequately educated - they have to go to work to make sure you have fun and are constantly entertained. Please respect our needs.

@@reginaleopold5368 yes sadly. At least 1 case per Mayor but up to 4 cases per HDOH. Scary.

Do you need to take another covid test before traveling back home?
It depends on if Hawaii is a quarantine state for your home location, we fly back to New Jersey and did not need to do that
How strict are they on the 72 hours? Especially with different time zones
They are very strict with the 72 hour rule, you have to upload the documents prior to departure and then share them once you arrive, they check everywhere, even the rental car place and if you stay in a hotel.
