@michaelcurrall Came with me to The Edge Climbing and Fitness in Ammon Idaho. I gave him the tour and we did some climbing. His video skills are way better than mine, and he agreed to bring along his camera to help me capture how awesome the gym is!
It's Outdoor Climbing Weather! 🌞🤘

I'm probably still quite a ways out from having the equipment or skill to do any trad climbs, but I'm down for a scramble with some boulder problems along the way! Music: Pretty Please Musician: AlisiaBeats URL: pixabay.com/music/pretty-please-181670/

Boom! 👊 Dad
Haha thanks!
Yeah! 💪 Strong climb
Good send brother🤙🏼
Thanks man! I sent it harder the first time before I remembered to film it 😅😅
To get up to that sloper you wer struggling on, try putting your left foot on the one to the right of your shin and flagging your right leg far out. Thats about all i can think of
I ended up doing exactly that! It got me one step further up, but I'm still working on getting past that! Haha
Yes!!! When you were pushing up to get your left hand on that high hold, the twist you did and the hip raise was such a notable improvement 👍👍👍 Amazing!
Thank you!! I've procrastinating on that project haha doing a lot of top rope. Sent a 5.10b yesterday!
Dang man thats a rough one! Good progressive though👏
Thanks bro!! I enjoy that one lol
Good stuff bro! The burn is a whole lot better on top rope haha
Heck yeah buddy!!
Can’t wait to send some climbs!
Climbing high now!! 💪
have you tried climbing just the top section? I find sometimes you gotta work on a different part of your project when you hit a road block
Yeah! It's getting better.. I'm one move away from a send now 💪 and that's a great idea! Especially because the starting hold is fatiguing on my grip
😅 You'll get it!!
That balance! 👍✅
😂💯
Yeah!! V2 💪💪
Freakin awesome man, I’ve tried rock climbing before and it’s pretty difficult especially the high wall😄
Thanks my dude! I'm going again tonight 😁💪
autobelays are way safer than humans when checked regularly. they make no human errors. to build trust in auto belays its maybe good to climb a few feet and then let the auto belay catch you and rappel down. really good for building trust. keep going!
Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely keep working on it
I was really looking forward three straight minutes of you downclimbing the autobelay wall with that dubstep in the background!
Haha yeah, @michaelcurrall did a great job picking the music for the edit. I'll be back and doing longer sessions soon!
craxy that your first v3 project in on an overhang like that! keep going man!
Thanks dude! I wasn't filming, but I actually sent two new V2s my last climb. That V3 is getting closer, but it's definitely still a work in progress! I have a few weeks until it's gonna get reset... So I'll be on my hustle game haha
Good stuff brother, enjoy some well deserved earned recovery🤙🏼
Dude I wish we had this weather.. its been hot all week and then rains. Done that the lasts 3 weekends🥲
That sucks! At least when we get rain, it dries out fast!
I wish haha
💪💪✋ Do it! Beautiful outside too
a lot of progress already, was gonna comment some tips and beta but you were already working on it by the end of your video
Thanks man! Yeah I had a 10 year climber give me some pointers. I'll just keep on building 🤘
If you can work on getting your hips up and twisting your shoulder towards the hold, itll help drastically increase your reach and minimise wasted energy, in bouldering you dont want your hips to be pulling you down and if your arms are bent it can lead to wasted energy. Youre doing great man! Ill try keep up to date on your progress! You got this
Thanks dude! I'll try to put that advice to work 💪
@@CLIMBAVOREanother method that helps is something called "flagging" whereby you extend one part of your body to counterbalance another part reaching. For example, if you bend to the side or forward, your leg will instinctively lift up behind you to balance you and stop you falling over. In climbing flagging can be used to extend reach by giving a more balanced position and then allowing you to reach upwards. Usually you would stick your outside leg out to counterbalance the matching arm reaching up. There's probably some videos detailing it. Tl:Dr: flagging is counterbalance to increase reach. There's plenty of tutorials on TH-cam. Good climbing💪💪💪 keep up the good work!!!
Yeah yeah! 💪
love to see people getting committed to their projects, go for it bro!
btw those grey triangle things are called volumes, at least in the uk maybe not in us
@@etgha Yes! Pretty sure that's what the setter I talked to called them haha I appreciate the encouragement!!
Hell yea bro keep it up!
Isn't a v2, like super easy? I always get confused with the scales. I've tried bouldering a couple of times. The highest i was ever able to complete was a single v4. I was able to do any v3 in the gym. Altho im not sure i understand the scales very well
Yeah it starts at V0 and goes up to V17... but I'm out of shape and just started climbing two weeks ago 😅😅 So it's an accomplishment for me!
@@CLIMBAVORE oh congrats 👍
Congrats bro!
Thanks dude!! Excited to pick a new project. V3s in my future 😎
Be careful about any holds involving finger crimps or holds putting major stress on your finger pulleys, especially if your arms/hands are already tired or sore. Finger pulley injuries are pretty common even in experienced climbers. Id say probably start with 2 days a week for the first couple weeks and only go till you start losing strength, dont blast your arms every time. Alternate blasting days and lower intensity volume days. Also, hand and finger stretches 👍
Thanks dude! I'm taking a few days off, since I went three days in a row haha
Good stuff and noice flash on the second V1 👍
Big improvement bro! keep it up
keep it up bro!
💯 thanks for the encouragement!
Congrats! Keep it up! V2 first try next!
Thanks dude! That's the plan 😎
what are you thinking will show more improvement, weight loss, or strength building?
I'm sure the climbing itself will do more to promote strength then weight loss, but the increased difficulty extra weight presents will be a huge motivator to stick to a diet and lose the weight 😅😅
@@CLIMBAVORE I guess I didn't phrase that right, which do you think will improve the climbing performance more
Oh gotcha! Weight loss, because strength to weight ratio will go up, and it'll be easier to hug close to the wall. They're both super important though!
@@michaelcurralldefinitely weight loss, but i think building strength is a better way to go overall, could def get huge quick with a good regiment
Not our hottest streak but we’re gettin there!
I'm not too upset about it considering we were playing hardcore this time 🤙 we'll crush next time 💯
We’ll get the luck of the stache again soon
Hell of a win streak bro!
Tons of fun bro can’t wait to hit it again soon🤘🏼
vere cool
Thanks 👍😊
Those look amazing!
That slap on the steak🤣
Amazing!! 😋🌮🌮
