This video shows the process of making a cone pack for a cone 10 gas reduction kiln. The order, angle and placement of the cones is important, as well as flattening them as they dry. This video covers guide, target, and guard cones (9, 10, and 11 in this case), as well as our body reduction cone (08) and how to contain its extra melty puddle. This video covers some methods for quick-drying a co...

Is this the same with glaze firing?

Yeah, same with firing to any temp, just use the appropriate small cone.

Dr Fauci should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity. Not the kiln. Kiln seems nice enough.

Great video! I would say that a really straightforward way of flipping the slab without stretching and cracking it like you did is to place it between two stiff ware boards and then flip. That was kind of hard to watch, because I’ve been there hahaha. I usually use drywall boards that I’ve taped the edges. Easy to make big ware boards with drywall and it’s nice and flat and smooth. Keep the canvas on the bottom side and use it to slide onto the bottom board, just peel it off once you’ve flipped it over!

And since it’s already on a board, easy to move the large slab to another work surface if you want.

Lol, that would have been a good idea. Didn't have large enough lightweight boards in the studio at the time, and we were just making small tiles, so I wasn't too worried about the loss around the edges. But that is a great tip for folks making larger slabs!
