Hi Amilan, it took quite some time because I work part-time as a freelancer. I have other engagements, so whenever I need a job, I'd log 'remember' Upwork, bid on relevant jobs (writing related), win, deliver, and get paid. Then I'd abandon the platform for maybe 8 months before coming back again. It's been on and off for me, but each time I take it seriously, I make money. I have even made more than $70k on Upwork because some of my clients pay me offline monthly. So I'd say it took 1 year or even more to get to this point. If I take Upwork (in particular) seriously, I can make $3k - $5k monthly. Because I have winning cover letters, portfolio, and some credibility. Hope this helps, Amilan?

Yes, you're right, Cecilia. Connects are the currency for winning bids on Upwork. It's best to upgrade to the PLUS plan, which costs about $20/month. With this plan, you'll be given 100 connects each month. This should be enough to win $500 - $1,000 jobs if you don't waste it on low-paying jobs. Let me know if you have more questions.

TH-cam takes a while, and you need to be knowledgeable about a particular topic to truly succeed on TH-cam. By all means, do TH-cam and freelancing, or any other business model, we're together.
