Red Deer ~ Killarney ~ Ireland 2024
In what was a spur of the moment decision I decided to head down from Dublin to Killarney in order to see the red deer in their annual rut! Unfortunately there was no rutting with the big boys when I visited! Still though Killarney itself is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited! The people are very warm and friendly and love a good chat! I will definitely return next year.

Sanderling ~ A Beautiful Experience

Had the pleasure of seeing a few Sanderling up close and personal here in Ireland, thanks to a friend of mine who is a shore bird expert and top of the food chain in photography here in Ireland! This is a short video of my highlights the last year from my pop up hide in my woodland patch! These are all wild animals and no commercial hide was used, I am based in Wicklow. A lot more productive than previous years as I have been spending more time there this year and attracting more animals to where I have my hide. I went to see some Hoopoes in Spain a while back and had these video clips so put them together and it was an experience I will never forget! The beautiful Willow warbler visited the shrubs around my summer home and gave some beautiful displays over a 2 week period! This also gave me many photo opportunities and time to observe this tiny little creature.

A trip to Spain to see these wonderful birds in action! Natures clean up crew in all their glory! This video features other species too such as the white stork, raven, black kite and towards the end you will see two juvenile Spanish Imperial Eagles take on a European Black Vulture and the size difference is there for all to see. Doing some work in the woodlands I was focused on the great spotted woodpecker and capturing some video and pics for you guys but I noticed a movement in the grass and thought it was a woodmouse but it was a bank vole and from then on I decided to make this wee short film! I hope you all enjoy! PS: The next video will be of the Great Spotted Woodpecker in a fortnight!
