Hello from CoSo! There are a lot of pretty places in New England. Welcome to the other coast!
Thanks. I recently took the coastal route from New Hampshire to northern Maine. Quite nice. What is CoSo?
Beautiful countryside.
That's one of the things which motivated me to stay a while.
Why not convert your Bacchetta to e-power?
I'm actually thinking about doing that.
Great! You might pave the way for me!
I love the simplicity and rigidity of that frame! I have an Agio, though, due to the riding position suiting me better. Got to check and see if you're still producing video in California (where I live).
I'm actually been in different states lately. I am currently in New Hampshire. I'll be posting an introductory NH video soon.
Looks like an A20
quite nice path.
😊 Loving the vids. You should take a look at PromoSM!!! ! I used it on my main channel to help my videos get more views!
I just bought a used Bacchetta Giro 26, looks identical to yours. Is there any way to find out the year of the bike? I need to get a kickstand. Never ridden a recumbent so learning to ride will be an adventure. Enjoy.
I don't know the year of mine. I currently have mine in storage because I have been riding an e-bike. I will be going to the storage unit in a couple of days. I think that I know which it is but I will confirm and post it here.
@@MosJournal thanks.
Do you have a home in Houston ???
I no longer have a place in Houston. I have completely returned to California.
I’m following you always .. I met you when you came to my Walmart in Clinton , Arkansas .
Thank you. I remember.
That's pretty amazing. Have you planned a route to follow the coast or are you going to cut thru the valley for the flat land advantage? I've always wanted to ride highway 1 for a 200 mile stretch around santa Cruz and half moon bay and have never had the chance but if you follow the coast you'll hit all my favourite spots. The valley is much more forgiving on long rides purely for covering distance but finding a spot to camp or a hotel is torture due to all the privately owned land with nothing on it and no cows living in the fields anymore. Good luck!
I am mostly travelling the coast except for the ride to Corona to visit a friend. I'll be riding to at least Santa Barbara and possibly up to Santa Cruz.
@@theopencyclist2189 sounds solid. Good luck on the road!
@@jesserominger9472 Thanks
Good luck in California!
It's very sad that these fears are very real and that's the same reason why I haven't been touring since the start of election season this year. I've been yelled at by so many trump supporters with confederate flags all last summer.
It's unfortunate that incivility has been actively promoted by some in public positions.
@@theopencyclist2189 would you consider posting your videos to reddit on the recumbent and bicycle touring communities? I'm certain a lot of people there would be fans of your story and gear.
@@jesserominger9472 I can explore that option. I have only read reddit so I'll need to look into it.
This is some insane heavy loads for long distance touring and I love it. I pack my bacchetta just as high with gear just for weekend trips (no trailer though) cause I like bringing everything with me that I can to be comfortable at my destination.
It was fine while I was in flatter country (central south central Texas) but became problematic when I got into the mountains. I lightened up quite a bit. I actually switched from the Bacchetta to the mountain bike due to parts availability issues. It's stored with a friend until I settle.
@@theopencyclist2189 yeah bacchetta parts are very hard to find at local shops unless you're In a larger city so it's understandable for practicality but it sucks for comfort. I also ride a lot of flat land with my bacchetta and borrow a friends road bike for hills.
What are those handle bars? I want to get a new set for my giro.
They came with the bike when I bought it used.
@@theopencyclist2189 ah lucky that means the handle bars came from the recumbent boom earlier in the 2000s or 2010s. My search continues but thank you for all the replies
I’m excited about following your journey . It was great talking with you this morning at Walmart Clinton , Arkansas .. Cathy Rogers Miles
Thanks
Good morning, The Open Cyclist. it is extremely enlightening video. thank. :)
