Magic mask?? Hello? Davinci is better for masking. The tracker and the matte controls and depth maps, theres even a node for quick bg removal if youre like new, nodes are just better for this kind of thing you have so much more control.

This is great, thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to create realistic ground snow. The VFX artists I know seem to use mostly AE to do it and I have played with it but would prefer to use Blender/Resolve, is one preferable over the other? And quite honestly the displacement maps are the most daunting thing to me just because my photo editing software editing skills suck, I use Affinity when I do have to use one. Hopefully if I go through this video slowly enough I can figure it out :)

by far the most dynamic and fun video I've seen about the vfx process, but as a newbie I have a problem, when rendering from blender not only the model and its animation are rendered, but the video used for reference is also rendered, Even after activating the "transparency" box, any ideas or tutorials explaining how to solve this?

This was excellent. I'm looking to make my first short film soon and was looking into a workflow that could help me. Thank you! This was the best video to get my head wrapped around the entire process I would need to go through to make my idea look professional. Also, spending 4 years now modeling, texturing, UV unwrapping, and rigging monster for games; I loved when you laughed about explaining more in detail on the process of actually making a monster 1:27 lmao I think of myself struggling all those years ago to make awesome models, rigs, and textures.
