छऊ नृत्य, भारत के पूर्वी हिस्से का एक पारंपरिक लोक नृत्य है. यह नृत्य, नृत्य और मार्शल आर्ट की परंपराओं से जुड़ा हुआ है. छऊ नृत्य की तीन शैलियां हैं: पुरुलिया छऊ, सेराइकेला छऊ, मयूरभंज छऊ.
छऊ नृत्य की खासियतें:
यह नृत्य, क्षेत्रीय त्योहारों, खास तौर पर चैत्र पर्व पर किया जाता है.
यह नृत्य, रात में खुली जगह में किया जाता है.
इसमें, पारंपरिक और लोक धुनों का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है.
इसमें, मोहरी, शहनाई, ढोल, धुम्सा, और खर्का जैसे वाद्ययंत्रों का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है.
छऊ नृत्य में, नकली युद्ध की तकनीकें, पक्षियों और जानवरों की चाल, और गाँव की महिलाओं के कामों से जुड़ी हरकतें शामिल होती हैं.
छऊ नृत्य में, रामायण और महाभारत जैसे महाकाव्यों के प्रसंगों को दिखाया जाता है.
