This clock required some restoration and is almost finished The movement is ultrasonic cleaned and it runs now for testing Soon i will be replace the dial and de hands. The clock have beautiful deep carving .

Nice Antique Dutch wall clock(Fries tail clock). This clock is about 1830 The dial plate is hand painted and signed with de name"A de Jong" name of the painter. The puppets on the top of de clock are original from wood

pity there isn't a view of the front of the cuckoo clock.
I have done one with a view of the front.
I find these antique cuckoo clocks are made much better made than the modern ones. Much thicker plates and no plastic wheels. I have an antique cuckoo quail clock, that I restored, for my self, weight driven, so 30 hour duration. The bird goes and out at every bellow sound, there is a cam on the strike side of the movement to allow for this. The plates are about 1/8th thick. I have repaired a Regula musical modern cuckoo clock for a customer and it isn't a patch on the antique ones. Thin plates and some plastic wheels on the minute wheel etc. The spring driven cuckoo quail clocks run for about 8 days.
facts. the modern movements wear out faster too

@@verybigkittens7550 regulas are greatly designed but badly built. i agree with you on the plates!
@@JustMyClocks after being rebushed they probably last longer. Especially using Bergeon bushes, and not Indian ones.

How do you ascertain that this clock comes from year 1880?.
The chime mechanism runs way too fast.
I have no idea what it's worth although I have been told it may be as much as $10000 Australian dollars.
I have the twin of this clock! It belonged to my great grandfather in the Netherlands.

Hi Gaius Thanks for your comment The case is verry nice with beautiful carving. When the clock is finished i put some more footage of the clock I repair all my own clocks,and sometimes clock from other people. The movements will be take apart and ultrasonic clean. Its my hobby Marco

Thanks for your comments. Only the comtoise movement are striking twice,that is typical for the comtoise movement. Not all oeil de boeuf clock are made with mini comtoise movement,the are also made with a French pendulem movement and regulator movement. But de mini comtoise is my favorite Marco
