ICOM IC-M91D Hand Held VHF Marine Radio with GPS

ICOM IC-M91D Hand Held VHF Marine Radio with GPS
I prefer Icom for strong CB communications, but I think the PTT buttons on the 41Pro and 450 could be better. I've had problems with both models having faulty switches and feeling cheap and unreliable. This is just constructive criticism, as Icom's UHF CB products are better than competitors in almost every other aspect.
iCom Australia maintenance and help line are great too, always get good service when I need them which is very rarely.
Flood Tested - our 41W recently had a swim and survived. It was in one of our cars when the car went under water for several hours and some moisture did get inside, evidenced by visible moisture on the screen; when recovered it didn’t look good, but it did turn on. The unit was placed in a tub of rice for several days (until the moisture was no longer evident) and it’s working perfectly again, not bad for a unit that’s over 10 years old. The car wasn’t so lucky and was written off.
They also have a ridiculous method of changing channel groups... This will do your head in and require the instructions to be with you at all times, the wasted time doing simple changes is beyond belief, a curse to the buyer.
I can buy five Boafeng UV5R radios for the price of ONE IC41Pro, I can throw one in the mud, drive a truck over it and just crack out a new one...same result. It works, and no dirty hands.
How do you factory reset this?
Thank you, but if you have a minute. When I turn mine on, it is LOUD, I use the "volume key" and nothing, no ability to adjust the volume that I can see. I punch it repeatedly, and I have tried holding down the key--nothing. Otherwise, it works great, but I seem to have no volume control, any ideas?
Adjusting the volume of the IP100H usually works when rotating the power/volume knob. When you rotate the knob, the display should show an audio level between 0-32. For reference, here is a link to the User Manual on our website: www.icom-australia.com/products/lmr/ip-100/LMR_IP100H_InstructionManual.pdf with the volume control instructions on page 13. If that doesn't work, please feel free to contact us and a member of our service team can help troubleshoot with you - you can find our contact details here: www.icom-australia.com/contact/contact.php
Empty cardboard frame....Where the heck did the Manual go???
does it float?
Why have a video of just unpacking the radio? Waste of time.
How do you factory reset this thing ? My first one mic won't work so yeah doubt it's military spec.
Hello, thank you for reaching out to us. Could you please give us a call on (03) 9549 7500 or email us at marketing@icom.net.au and someone will assist you with your query.
Does the Ic-41 charge from the cig socket? Thank's
Yes, it does. If you need more info please send an email to marketing@icom.net.au or you could give us a call on (03) 9549 7500.
Thank you for the prompt reply and additional info. This radio is on my shopping list, besides its nearly Christmas !
Happy with the IC-450. Doesn't have the features of some competitors but build quality feels better than others I have seen. The box itself is solid, others feel like plastic toys compared to them. No speaker in the box, just the remote, but the handpiece speaker works well and there is an output which works well with aux speakers. The record function is great for when you can't make something out or get distracted, saves asking others to repeat themselves which is handy especially when in convoy.
Radio itself made in Japan?

HAVE A 41S , THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS VERY POORLY WRITTEN ITS A BASTARD TO CANCEL ALL THE UNNECESSARY FEATURES
Excellent radios
I DON'T WONT TO TALK TO,ONLY HEAR THEM
It would be nice if your were able to talk and would actually demonstrate all functions of the radio. I guess your a little speech shy. At least the video was good, though I wish you demonstrated more. :(
Thats fair enough - I didnt think they'd be able to fit a tuner as well into that box of smarts - its a great looking rig. I am looking forward to release. Although I dont need an all-mode with 2 and 70, this would fit into my station better than a rig like the 7410. But the 7410 has a tuner inbuilt. Tough decision!!
Like the IC-7000, an optional auto tuner (such as the AH-4 or AT-180) is available for tuning purposes.
Does it have a tuner inbuilt?
The IC-41W has 32 additional channels which can, among other uses, be programmed for receive-only purposes. Frequencies can be programmed in manually, or an authorised Icom dealer can do this via software.
Can this one be set up as a Police (Analog) scanner?
