I loved your diligence in nailing down what you're tasting! Quick note: this is not a 22-year-old Rum. Only one of the Rums in the blend gets 11 years in ex Bourbon. The second Rum in the blend gets 5 years in ex Zin, then 6 years in ex Bourbon. Indelible is an 11yo Rum.

It really isn't a shock to me that Planteray fares relatively badly here. The added sugar and the cognac finishing is definitely a different style to what the other distilleries are offering, so it's almost an unfair comparison. (also 2 of the Planteray were their gimmicky flavoured rums). This is partially why Mount Gay, Foursquare and St. Nicholas Abbey are pursuing the GI for Barbados which would exclude almost everything in the Planteray range (because it's usually finished in France). Great video though. I wish some of these brands where available where I live. No Old Brigand or Mount Gay Port Casks here.

Barbados is probably the toughest country to do. Because Mt. Gay and Foursquare is very close in flavor profile.

Oh, and I did a 5 part Cedar Ridge tasting on my Low Carb Cocktails channel that will start weekly from March 29 (I think) an on for 5 weeks.

This was a great video. Nia, it’s great to see you doing a tasting of whiskey. Rum is great but so is Whiskey. I noticed on the second one, someone thought to reminded them of Cedar Ridge QuentEssential. That is a great Single Malt (Barley to be exact) I have 5 versions of QuentEssential and could bring some samples down in May when we come to Tampa. Again, great video and you did the Rum community proud in a Whiskey blind.

I have used both in a TI punch, i really enjoy the brine note that backs up to the lime juice. I'm a little odd....
