Ive got a 1981 atc 200 and fixing to do a zongshen 250 engine swap any advice or anything i need to look out for ?
Not really, pretty much just plug and play
@@wickedoffroadmachines7241I did the swap and you videos helped tremendously... I do have a question tho my clutch is super hard to pull ended up breaking my clutch handle the actual clutch on the miter seems fine just stiff which I was assuming... Any thoughts ? I'm going to try and use another clutch handle and cable if that doesn't work I'm going to do a hydraulic clutch system.
Mine is a bit stiff but never broke the handle
will this motor be enough for my trx300ex? i dont have money to get a new motor and just need something to have fun with
It probably will, won’t be as powerful of course

It’s running all the og parts to make it run, carburetor and exhaust etc
Very cool, am wanting to fix my old locked up atc 200. Just watched your other video and am pleasantly surprised to see you have a follow up video just from today. I'm considering doing the Chinese motor if my stuck motor is beyond hope.
In your opinion, would this engine be strong enough for a utility side by side? I plan to build my own side by side for hunting , and just use around for fire wood n such.
I'm curious if these motors have the same power or close to it as the stock motors. Currently building a bike from the ground up and the engine I picked up that "ran when it was pulled" was actually trashed

It won't let me edit my other comment Check my page I fabricate the rear brake. I cut the dipstick off. Because you have the glass window to see the full level and also the tab on the bottom of the motor can be grinded down, it's solid. And a 400 EX wire harness and cluster works. Great, it has the electric start.
Much appreciated Clean looking 200 x Still have my 83. But she's extremely wore out. Definitely need to reinforce the frame if you're cutting. I watched a 200s go off of 30 ft cliff. Lucky the Raider came off first. But it started up after crash landing. It did bend the fork badly but he was able to ride it back. 🤠🏞️🐂

Was that harness a direct fit. Please let me know and send a link if you can please i have the same looking engine but i think its a 250 and im have a hard time getting the original wiring harness to work i do have a cheap wiring harness i bought but the connections arent the same
No, I spent about two hours with a wiring diagram to hook it all up
I'm currently doing the same swap but on a 200s, I need some pictures of how the wiring is done up by the headlight, I currently have no spark

I'm roughly going the same route with my 83 200x. Not sure which chinese 200 I have, it's a manual clutch 5sp. It's from a chinese blaster. I noticed it uses a 530 front sprocket, I'm going with a 520 35tooth rear n 18" tires so I'll have to sort out the front sprocket. I'm curious to see how many clearance issues I have with a 400ex rear shock on it. Built myself a plus 2 swingarm with progressive linkage. I'm hoping worst-case I'll make a longer intake to make the carb clear the resivor on the shock

Just finished hooking one of these up to an old 125 cc honda motorcycle... hardly any modifications needed. Crazy how honda stuff is all so similar.
How is the gearing? I did the math for a similar motor and it came out to be a top speed of over 120mph which seems wrong because who would ever go that fast with one of these engines. That math was based on a 54 tooth rear sprocket and 22” tall tires
Run 30-35 pegged on a 11 tooth front and 40-45 on 15
So this has reverse gear?
Yes but I wouldn’t recommend getting the one with reverse. The one without reverse still has a kickstart. Reverse is too high geared
Currently working on an engine like this only it’s water cooled. The previous owner cobbled the wiring so bad I didn’t know where to start. I ordered a wiring harness for it and a brand new carburetor. Has spark, getting fuel, valves are moving, but it won’t even try to pop. Wondering if the new wiring harness somehow throws off the timing? Any input?
I don’t know what carb you are using but cheap carbs are typically junk. They will either have a float valve that’s stuck or set improperly or clogged jets from the factory. I’d recommend dribbling some gas or starting fluid to rule out the change of it just being a bad carb. It’s possible that it’s something else but a carb is an easy one to check first

I read somewhere that the sprocket on the chinese engines isnt for a 520 chain. if that is the case, what sprocket are you using?

Does this motor cause you a lot of vibrations? I'm hearing it vibrates the bike like crazy when riding
Nope and is quite responsive
So what you showed in the video for the wires is all you had to swap around everything els was plug and play?
There is only on plug in on the motor necessary for it to run, and it is like 5 wires

Thanks man, I have a old xl185s that's got metal in the oil. I plan to rebuild the factory motor eventually but this will get me back on the road for now.
I want to do this also thank you for sharing. Gives me the confidence to attack my project lol
☝️🤑 Paying a professional atv bodywork artist to apply new paint _ different color_to that 4 wheeler will make it look newer and more valuable .
