If you already have an upgraded battery you might as well. The stock power cord slowly fell apart on me. Also had the power cord fuse together just running the 66v chi with a stock controller.

@@JaeDee66 I’m sure you can get away with using the stock power cord. Just remember you run the risk of those lines fusing together after a long ride. I’m guessing they sent you that adapter cord for your stock power cord. That’s the part that fused together on me. Didn’t realize it until I had to send my battery back to Chi because it quit charging. Went to put my stock battery back in. Had to use pliers to get it apart. And that further destroyed my stock power cable. At that point it was a no brainer. Upgrade the power cord. Haven’t had any issues since. Plus it’s just a much better connector all together. Just take it time on installation and really think about your wire placement when putting it back together. Regardless good luck!

@@JaeDee66 Yes. Your chi battery should have the QS8 cord already on it if I’m not mistaken. That’s how mine came. You will have to remove your stock power cord and set your QS8 up exactly how your stock power cord was hooked up. Use your stock power cord as a reference as to where to cut the QS8. You need to be pretty precise as to where u cut the line. Or you risk it being cut to short. So take ur time in doing so. I hope that made a little bit of sense.

They claim to have fixed it. I’m not entirely convinced yet. But so far nothing worth complaining about. My 2017 smelled like a gas station when I used to change the oil. Getting ready to do my 3rd oil change soon. I will post that as well. Just hope these videos help others with buying or selling a civic with the 1.5L turbo. Hopefully this will show if they actually fixed the problem or not.

Not at all been totally chill. Just don’t pop wheelies in the street and don’t get caught doing 50mph down mainstream and you should be fine. I also put a pedal kit on my bike to help blend in. Plus once you get comfortable on it and realize cville is full of trails. You can get around pretty well just through the woods. I ride in the empty lot next to Buffalo Wild Wings all the time. Anyway hmu if you get one.

Right. It’s so funny how people want so badly to compare it to a gas bike. Maybe if you 72V the bike you could do some damage. But overall weight is what digs the trails out. Your YZ with you on it is probably around 400 lbs. just guessing. A surron only weighs like 110 with the battery in it. And stock on eco mode you would be lucky to tear a piece of grass. I’m just tired of mountain bikers assuming they know what they are talking about.

@@thatfordguy7303 well theyre compared to petrol dirt bikes because theyre electric dirt bikes; SurRon themselves classes them as e dirt bikes/e motorcycles(check their website). Just like an electric car is compared to their petrol alternatives. However, they are NOT e bikes. (throttle actuated only and exceeds 27mph etc.) I’ve argued with numerous people about what class they fall in but it’s NOT 2 or 3.(unless you have a pedal assist kit, stationary flat pedals are not the same) That being said most multi-use trails don’t allow e dirt bikes/e motorcycles, you should be on a UHV trail. I get your argument about not causing ruts but it doesn’t make you right.

@@Fvckyourfxce So my bike doesn’t make ruts. It won’t go over 28mph if it’s stock. And I have the pedal assist kit on it. So by Va state law it’s an e-bike. Because technically I made it one. And I can ride it anywhere a bike can go. Including mountain bike trails. So I don’t know what state you live in but the law in Va says I’m good. As long as the cops don’t catch you going 50mph on the road they are not going to bother you anyway. I’m in the uva area and all the students are riding electric scooters,bikes,skateboards,one wheels. Everywhere. Mainly in the middle of the street with no helmet. So believe me the cops could give a crap about my Surron. I sit at stoplights next to cops in the bike lane waiting for the light to change. Not so much as a hey what’s that? People need to relax. Especially on the idea of these bikes tearing up trails. And you can’t compare a stock Surron to a gas bike. The power and weight difference is to far apart. A stock Surron CANNOT go over 28mph in eco or sport mode. And it weighs 110lbs with the battery in it. A gas bike weighs around 350-400 lbs. big difference. A stock Surron is no match for a gas bike.

Yeah I’m so tired of hearing that crap to. Well the debate is over now. Just show them this video. I can understand maybe a 72v with big tires doing some damage maybe. But a stock Surron in eco mode is nothing close to a gas bike. I even went as far as putting pedals on my bike to appease the Karen’s and Kyle’s of the world. They still get butt hurt. And in Va if you have pedals and pedal assist it’s an e-bike. That being said I can legally ride it anywhere a bike can go.

It’s been so long now I honestly can’t remember. It’s whatever cam came with the trick flow track heat package from LMR. It really woke that car up.

For sure. Good thinking. Wish I could do the same here. I just need this set up to appease state law. At the same time it is nice to be able to pedal when you want. Also the system keeps your max speed around 20mph when in assist. At least that’s how mine works. I do like that setting because when on bike trails or tight settings. It will help keep your speed under control.

On eco?

@@AnthonyDiVella. Yes. I did have it on Eco for the whole ride. But honestly I think you get just about as much range in sport to. Especially if you are trail riding. It seems the battery only drains faster if in sport and Full throttle for several minuets. Otherwise I haven’t noticed some huge rang difference between eco and sport. But all and all that battery gets me about 30miles and be down to 10-20%.

Used a piece of cardboard to make a template. Then traced it out and cut accordingly

1/4 inch. Nothing you want someone to sit on. But you could always use some thicker material.
