Excellent video. Once again, shocking that we (in the UK) have the highest rates of SABA over-reliance in Europe, and triple the greenhouse gas emissions compared to other European nations! Interesting that our inhaler prescribing rates (both SABA and preventers) are much greater in absolute numbers (not adjusted per-capita) than European neighbours. Assuming that the data are restricted to inhaler prescriptions for asthma, what could be explaining the differences in these numbers?

Thanks for the introductory video. Shocking that we have the near-highest asthma mortality rates within Europe, and historically we have not been encouraging patients to dispose of unused inhalers at their pharmacy (which should be the case for all unused/discarded medication)!

Thanks for the excellent video. Especially useful were the concepts of a diagnostic test (could be any - including PEF, the most easily-accessible test available), the importance of identifying and following-up patients on inhaled treatment but without a formal diagnosis, and starting ICS while awaiting for a confirmatory test to achieve symptom control and avoid deterioration.
